I followed the link and learned that I just needed to turn the printer off and back on again. The paper cleared itself automatically after that!

Canon Pixma MP160 shows errors E3 and won't print

Hi there,

Error E3 : Check if the paper has jammed in the machine, reload the paper in the machine correctly and then press [Black] or [Color].

Paper Jams :
Cause : Paper jams in the paper output slot/ Auto Sheet Feeder.
Landscape Credit Card sized paper jams inside the machine.

Action : Remove the paper according to the following procedure.
1) Slowly pull the paper out, either from the Auto Sheet Feeder or from the paper output slot, whichever is easier.
* If the paper tears and a piece remains inside the machine, open the Scanning Unit and remove it. Be careful not to touch the components inside the machine at this time. After removing the paper, close the Scanning Unit, turn the machine OFF and turn it back ON.
* If you cannot pull the paper out, turn the machine OFF and turn it back ON. The paper will eject automatically.

2) Reload the paper into the machine and press [Black] or [Color].
* If you have turned OFF the machine in step , you will need to retry printing, because this operation cancels any print jobs in progress.

If you cannot remove the paper or the paper tears inside the machine, or if the paper jam error continues after removing the paper, contact a Canon service representative.
Important : You cannot load Credit Card sized paper in the landscape orientation.

Hope this helps.
Have a good day.

Is there a fix for error 6A80 for a Canon mx700 printer?

You can try a few things:
RESET the printer:
  1. On the operator panel, press and hold the <ON/OFF> button for one second. (The display will go blank.)

Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.
  2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the <ON/OFF> button again.
  3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.
Check for paper jammed in the paper output slot, the Rear Tray, or the Front Tray.
Remove the paper following the procedure below.
(1) Slowly pull the paper out, either from the paper source or from the paper output slot, whichever is easier.

(A) When printing from the Rear Tray
(B) When printing from the Front Tray
bullet_s.gif If the paper tears and a piece remains inside the machine, open the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) and remove it.
After removing all paper, close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover), turn the machine off, and turn it back on.
* Be careful not to touch the components inside the machine.
bullet_s.gif If you cannot pull the paper out, turn the machine off and turn it back on. The paper will be ejected automatically.
(2) Reload the paper in the machine, and press the OK button on the machine.
If you turned off the machine in step 1, all print jobs in queue are canceled. Reprint if necessary.
i_note.gif Note

bullet_s.gif When reloading the paper in the machine, confirm that you are using the correct paper and are loading it into the machine correctly.
bullet_s.gif A5-sized paper are suited to print documents consisting mainly of text. We do not recommend using such paper to print documents with photos or graphics, since the printout may curl and cause paper exit jams.
If you cannot remove the paper or the paper tears inside the machine, or if the paper jam error continues after removing the paper, you should take the printer to a service shop since the printer will have to be disassembled to remove the torn paper.
