Convergence control will disappear / inactive in TV menu when Convergence out section got failure. Please replace convergence out board in TV to solve this problem. Is it Samsung HC-N473W model? Thanks.
sounds like your lamp is needing to be replaced. www.alltvlamps.com will have the lamp for your set just enter the model number of your Tv to locate it.
i know this is a old problem but in case anyone in the future here has this problem, the problem lies in your convergence board ,mainly the stk`s are shot ,you can buy new STK`s for around 15 to 20 dollars and then will need some one to take old ones of and resoldering the new ones on.
anywho if you have this problem unplug or remove your convergence board and then turn on tv and you will see a picture, all colours will be out of convergence but when you put the fixed board back in colours should realign, or you may have to realign a little yourself.
only reason i am posting on this old problem is because was just given this tv samsung hcn473wx/xac for free and decided to fix it and it now works well.
The convergence IC's in this TV set are bad. Both IC's should be replaced at the same time. They are labeled STK 392-040. Use only the ones that are not replacements but from a reliable source. The complete convergence board is no longer available from Samsung, so this is why these IC's need to be replaced. You will also need the service manual for this TV set as after vthe IC's are replaced you will need to go into the service menu and do a convergence alighnment. Good Luck
