Audio turn by turn instructions not functioning -Magellan Roadmate 2000

I contacted Magellan about this issue for my Roadmate 5045. They told me to reset the unit by sliding the power bar to to the off position for 10 seconds, and then let it sit off for a minute or so. When it powered up, the issue seemed to be resolved. But it comes back. Successive efforts using this method have about a 80% success rate.

Instructions and POI software are on the CD that was packaged with your GPS.

i use to own a 700, i advise you to get the new magellan mastreo 4000 or higher,i did my research and the magellan700 roadmate is no longer being serviced.that is what the magellan website has had showed and someone on here also has said it and they start to have alot of problems.i own now a mastreo 4000 so far so good no problems.

goto prefences/deleate active track, should also be able to clear it if it was placed in routes by checking folders and select it,next press menu, then select deleate

"proceed to route:" means that the road you are now on is not part of the maps installed. You can get this when in a Mall parking lot or a new home sub division.

Simply put the GPS is saying to you, "I don't know how to get to a road I know from here so you need to get to it yourself once we are on a known road I'll start giving you directions"

Perhaps it is just a matter of old maps. According to the Magellan web pages, new maps will be available for download and update in August 2007.
