What is the best IC replacement for original IC part# STK393-110?

PROBLEM: I'm having double vision and 3D effect only on 480i/480p video, yet perfect video on the 1080i ports. From what I've researched replacing the Convergence IC's will correct the problem. Hopefully that's accurate.

QUESTION: What IC is the BEST and compatible replacement for the original IC part# STK393-110? This is for my Mitsubishi WS-65511 65'' projection HDTV.

Please help! Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you,
George Scolaro

Sayo makes the best IC's, don't just settle for the cheap ones. I have see this ic for as low as $5.00 on the internet.

I would also advise that the convergence IC’s be OEM or better, just because they are cheap does not mean that they are a good deal. I have seen the cheap IC’s fail after a short time, even though they look exactly like the OEM IC’s. I think that the bottom line is that you will get what you pay for when it comes to the parts.

You can try http://www.tvrepairkits.com/ they do carry OEM or better parts.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
If you need further assistance please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

Panasonic th 46pz80u

Yo don't. The TV's resolution can't be changed. Only the signal resolution from the source can be altered.

The TV is a fixed pixel device. The panel has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The incoming video signal is scaled to fit that display. If the signal is 480i then it is deinterlaced to make it 480p, and then scaled up to make it 1080p. The amount of detail in the picture doesn't change. It's still a 480i image. It's just blown up to fill a 1080 panel.

The TV reports the resolution of the incoming signal before it is scaled. If you have a BD player you can see the effect of changing the resolution setting from 480p, to 720p, to 1080i, to 1080p 60, to 1080p 24. The last three (the 1080 resolutions) shouldn't look too different with a Blu-ray apart from movement because the native picture is 1080p 24 and the TV is simply converting it back to 1080p 24 for display.

960i is a funny resolution. That would be achieved by line doubling a 480i signal. But it's not one of the VESA HDTV timings. TTBOMK there's no Blu-ray or HD source that generates a 960i image. So even if you could generate it then the TV wouldn't understand what to do with it.

Won't work in 480i or 1080i mode

Have you tried a different input like a DVD to ensure the issue is with the TV? If the issue is indeed the TV then replacement of the video card (Or digital board) is warranted. If there is a separate board with all of the video inputs on it that would be the video board. If the main board in the unit has the video connectors on it, that is the digital board.

What is the screen resolution to the sharp 32C540 ?

480i is the highest resolution of your tv. The tv has composite, s-video and component inputs in the back. The manual states that with component connections are dvd compatible allowing you to enjoy the highest quality image playback than using s-video. Dvd's resolution are 480i or 480p. I'm guessing it's more 480i than 480p since the tv is a crt tube tv and does not have any of the digital inputs for higher resolutions.
