I have a brandnew kenmore side by side refrigerator. It is dispensing hot water out of the cold water faucet instead of cold. What could be the problem??

Faucet may have scale desposits on cold water side that would restrict flow. The shut-off valve for the cold may not be opened fully. If a saddle valve for refrigerator ice water was installed, it may block off flow for cold water. Check these items first, then ask more questions.
I am guessing your question about the "water tube" you mean the water line coming into your refrigerator. If this line is hot it is likely that it is connected to a hot water line instead of a cold water line. This will cause longer freeze times for your ice maker and longer time to cool drinking water, if you have a water dispenser. This is consuming more energy raising your utility expense every month. I recommend you find a cold water line to connect to. If you are comfortable doing this you can purchase everything you need at either of the big box stores, if not then I suggest you call a good plumber.
Since the cooling tank is located in the refrigerator area behind the crisper drawers, the only explanation for less than col water coming from the water dispenser is that your fresh water line is connected to the hot water spigot instead of the cold one.
That is not a complete model# so it is hard to know exactly what you have but the old fridges (kenmore and others) had a pretty straight shot from the water holding tank to the tube that shot water in your glass so it was typically colder.
The newer ones have extra plumbing for filters along with tiny holding tanks. Most manufactures have gone out of their way to make the tanks not freeze but in doing so have made the water more "cool" instead of "cold".
It is not in the way you set it but more of the way things have become. Please give a complete model# (from inside the unit on the sticker and not off the owners manual) if you need more assistance.
There is a solinoid valve that opens when you push the switch in. It has apparently failed and is leaking. Sometimes taking it apart and cleaning it will fix the problem.
