If you have another TV, try it on that. Also make sure that you have connected the cables to the right inputs. On TVs with multiple inputs it's easy to accidentally connect the audio to one input and the video to another.

Also try going through the Input Select on your TV (or A/V receiver) to see if the video appears on another input.

Wii won't turn on.

Reset the AC adapter by following steps below.

1. Unplug the Wii AC adapter at both ends (from the back of the
Wii system and from the wall outlet or power strip).

2. After you've waited a full 2 minutes, plug the AC adapter back in on both ends and check to see if the power light comes on.

Black wii screen but can hear it

Your cables still could be going bad, even though everything else is fine I would go to a gamestop and buy a used cable and see if that works or go buy a brand new one.

Wii only works in black and white

either your Wii or your TV dont match, one will be PAL and one will be NTSC or vice versa.
if you have a HD TV buy an HD composite cable off ebay for about £4 and it should sort it.

Friends Nintendo Wii went off - screen turned black after previously working ok. Took our Wii and plugged it into their tv and wiring. Our Wii now wont work. When Wii is turned on screen changes from no...

  1. This happens if the wires are hooked up wrong(Video and Audio reversed)
  2. The tv is on the wrong channel
  3. The tv signal settings have been changed
  4. The signal settings on the wii have been changed
First check that all wires and connectors on the wii and tv are properly and snugly connected
and check the tv channel.
Then check the settings in both.

Plug in the wii system and everything comes in black and white

Try plugging it into another scart socket, this sometimes happens when a tv does not support 60hz. the result is a screen that has no colour. You could try just plugging it onto the seperate av inputs. Most tv's these days have one scart that will work ok and in colour.

Wii has black screen and no sound when I turn it on

Make sure you have the input set correctly on the TV. If you turned everything off, it probably reset back to default input.

Power Outage & Now Wii Won't Power Up...

When this same thing happened to me, I unplugged the Wii power supply from the wall (not just from the back of the Wii) and let it sit unplugged for about 10 minutes. When I plugged it back in, everything was fine.
