THE REMOTE CONTROL DOESN'T WORK FOR MY TOSHIBA 20AF43 TELEVISION. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERIES AND EVEN TRIED A NEW UNIVERSAL REMOTE WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. IS THERE A REMOTE SENSOR IN THE TELEVISION THAT I CAN REPLACE? IF SO DO YOU KNOW THE PART NUMBER? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED Where can I get a new sensor for my TV?

I am NOT too keen with 'universal remotes' because often the CODES listed are not accurate so your item (in this case a TV) may never respond without the proper code entered...

Some remotes offer a FISH method where you manually "step" from one code to the next... no fun but SOMETIMES your TV will suddenly respond again!

Now the IR SENSORS are rather rugged and seldom 'burnout'... but the board it mounts on is another story.

Your Service Manual can be found at the link below but the print is so tiny I was unable to locate the board with your IR SENSOR quickly... time is a issue and the link is a start!

One BAD point is that I found no USED boards for your model on eBay... not good.

SOURCE: Toshiba televisoion problem

there should be a control on the set at the panel to switch this over to video. Might be in a door area or right up front if not U will to obtain a remote

Dear Mr.yeye,
There seems to be a problem with the IR LED of your television. solder the connections if any of them is cut. Also there can be loose connections. its better to contact the retailer from whom you purchased this tv

SOURCE: Remote sensor not working

either the sensor on the tv is going or the eprom chip will need to be replaced along with a crystal that is on the chip

How to watch dvd on a toshiba 20af43 without original remote control
To remove the video lock:
1. Press MENU, then press left or right to display the OPTION menu.
2. Press up or down to highlight LOCK.
3. Press left or right to display the LOCK menu.
4. Use the Channel Number buttons (0-9) to enter your PIN code,
then press ENTER. The LOCK menu appears.
5. Press up or down to highlight VIDEO LOCK.

No remote control response (toshiba 42h81)
Are you SURE the cables are right?? The cable for the remote sensor and the speakers are both 4 pin and can easily be swapped. The cable with the brown wire (speakers) will attach to the convergence/signal PCB on the far right edge, while the remote connector plugs into a connector closer to the center of this board.
