When turning TV on it would click a few time, then you would hear a hissing sound, but no picture. Would have to unplug TV, as it would not power down. Unplugging and plugging in would eventually get picture to come on.

The hissing sound could be high voltage leaking from a tripler. Observe in a dark room for blue arcing. Look at tripler and connections to the projection tubes. If the tripler is leaking replace the tripler.

My TV does not power up when the power button is pressed.

It's sounds like your lamp or backlight has went out, I suggest reading your manual for service info and look online for a local repair shop.

I have the same problem with mine. i,m pretty sure that it is the built in surge protector is bad. Try unplugging the tv for 30 seconds then plug it back in and turn it on. If your surge protector has not completely gone bad this might work a few times. mine won't turn on at all anymore.

No sound or Picture, Just a hissing sound.

well what sounds like happened is you blew up the tube in it. have you unplugged it from the wall and just let it sit some times that helps because what will happen is there will be a Electrical build up and it won't work right. an other thing you might want to do is hit the Degauss button on the remote. plug some sort of video signal into it and go through the inputs to see if that helps, mine did that every thing would just be black but i plug in my video camera it would detect it and make sure that the audio cables are plugged in these TV might just be that old that they have to have both audio and video in order to work.

No picture or sound

If you had a burning smell, well the board is toast. These sets are made to replace the entire board at one time. Before installing the replacement module, the picture tube should be checked. A defective picture tube ( such as a G1 short) may cause a failure in the power supply section.
