Under the circumstances go to control and click on printer. Clear all the printing jobs. Switch off the printer and the computer. Wait for sometime and restart the computer and the printer. This should clear your problem.
There are several things to check
1.remove and reinstall the ink cartidges
2. press ON/OFF switch to reset the printer
3. if the printer is new, make sure all the packing material has been removed
4. Check the paper path to make sure that you do not have a paper jam.

hi katherine. unplug the printer, wait three minutes and plug it back in. sometimes this will reset everything. if it doesnt, keep looking for a scrap of paper stuck in it somewhere either where it goes in or where it comes out. good luck.
