Try and clean the contacts at the memory stick slot by using a contact cleaning solution. The solution should be available with any Philips service dealer or PC shops.

Hi

Switch your camera to Setup on the control **** located on the top.

Take out the memory stick and press the reset button located inside the battery compartment.

Now switch on the camera and insert the memory stick.

If you do not get the error go to the little toolbox on the menu. Select the format option and proceed through the warning messages. Remeber you will loose all data on the memory stick.

Things should now work. If not some simple thing that sound bezare but has worked for me is pushing the memory stick in and out before the camera displays the error. Do this several times until the camera actually reads the stick and them format the stick first chance you get.

Good luck.

I had the same problem and fixed it by formating my memory stick on the camera that had the problem. It still didnt work but then I took the memory stick to another sony camera and formated it on that camera then placed it back in the camera that didnt work and it worked. Dont know why or if it will keep working but i dont get the "no memory" anymore.

Thanks puppydodger I did the cleaning thing but was a little scepticle of the jolting thing, spent the last week researching new cameras after finding out how much it was going to cost to fix it ($300+) finally decided to go ahead and give the thing a shake and sure enough - IT'S working now! Hope it lasts though.

Thank you,

The Sony DSC-F717 will only take upto a 256MB Memory Stick - larger size Memory Sticks will give the C: 13:01 error. Use a correct memory stick and your camera should be fine. Regards, Andrew

Sony dsc-f717 memory stick error I have a problem with my camera mentioned above, error number is C:32:01 that shows after I take several pictures or a short video. I changed the memory card into a new one...

A letter and number error code of C:13:xx is an indication the recording media (floppy disk or Memory Stick® media) you are using is either not supported for use with the camera, not formatted properly, or is damaged or faulty. Since you have swapped out the memory already and reformatted it, we'll probably have to assume that the reader is dirty. But first make sure that you re-formatted the stick using the camera, not a computer, as Sony claims that a computer format is not supported.

CLEANING THE READER

Blow into the stick slot with a can of compressed air, using a q-tip. If it still doesn't work you may need to buy a commercial memory card slot cleaner.

I have a sony dsc-f717 took several pictures and now i get format error 13:01 and can't retrieve the photos I've took and veiwed. Help retrieving

1st, try and download the pictures via your computer and a memory card adapter. If you're computer doesn't recognize the card through an adapter,

2) go to www.ita.sel.sony.com
Search by the model number of the Memory Stick. There is Memory Stick recovery software. follow the steps for the download and recovery.

3) On new/blank memory cards, I sometimes have to format the MS in the camera first, then everything works fine.

Memory stick error

Hi There, In the menu there should be a setting to set the camera back to factory. Try re-formatting the card. Try using a different card. The camera has some built in memory, take card out and shoot 2 pics on built in memory, is playback ok?
If not, card reader may be defective. Only service shop could tell you that for sure.
Let me know, mr cicmo.

Memory Stick reformatted in new camera

Digital Camera and Video Phone Number 1 800 222 7669 - it's automated, just say your model number, then "no" to accessories, then "no" to connection problems, then "picture" for ccd issues. Its that easy!

Memory stick error

Look at the bottom of the memory card slot, you probably bent one or more of the contactor pins. Use a small screwdriver and carefully try to straight the bent pin then carefully put the memory card back in. From now on, use a USB cable for downloading your pictures and don't pull the card out anymore as the pin is probably weaker than before and can break. Good luck
