Fantom GF1000EU Hard drive: When I turn the drive on my computer recognizes something is plugged into the USB, but it is unable to locate the drivers. The drive also does not show up in my computer. It does show up in the device manager, but as an unknown device with no drivers selected. I try to install the driver, but it can't find any. I have tried it on two other computers and had the same problem. The blue light is on and you can hear the drive moving.

My Hard Drive will not be recognized by my computer and the blue light will not come one

You may need to enter the BIOS of your computer and ensure that the option to support USB2.0 is enabled. Try it in another USB port at the rear of your computer. Also check it in another computer/laptop.

To enter the BIOS press the delete or F12 key repeatedly just after turning on.

Thanking you

Windows all of a sudden does not recognize the 100GB hard drive. Message is that the USB device has failed. Running XP on all of my computers and plugging this drive into any of them fails.

There's a possible that the harddrive is corrupted, or could be the usb cable itself, have you tried connecting a different usb cable for the harddrive? If so and still doesnt work have it covered by the manufacturer of the harddrive

My 1 TB fantom green drive driver has been lost, what do i do?

There's no need for any software -- USB devices are designed to be "plug-and-play" -- the Operating System should recognize the device, and make it ready to be used.

I have a Fantom Drive Titanium External USB 2.0 Hard Disk Drive. All of a sudden the drive in gone. I tired to unplug everything & redo but nothing appears. It does not have a disk. It is a plug &...

Hello

If you turn on the drive can you feel that the drive starts spinning? Can you feel movement and see a light flickering?

Does your computer acknowledge that there is something plug in when you plug in the Drive? Does it give you a notification, or does it make a sound?

If so, then this simple setting just might fix your problem.
Just follow these steps and you should be set.
Go to:

Start
Control panel
Administrative tools
Computer management
Storage
Disc management

Now you should see your drive in the schematic below.
Right click on the drive and choose to change the drive letter and paths.
Now click on change and change the current drive letter. If there is no drive letter assigned, assign one.

However, if the drive does not spin at start up, there is something wrong with your HDD.
Hope this can be of help.

Kind regards
Andrea

Unusual sounds, doesn't show up in My Computer

The hard drive is damaged my friend. Hard drives are very, very, very delicate pieces of equipment. The disk is paper thin and any sudden jarring, sometimes can occur in transit and especially dropping it creates a warp in the drive. Unplug it to prevent further damage. Don't worry in many cases you can have the data retrieved from your hard drive by using this online company that I highly recommend:

Drive NOT being recognized by WinXP

Put your ear to the drive and verify if it is making any strange low level sounds. Check to make sure the usb connection wasnt affected. YOu wont need a driver as it appears to be hardware related. Either the enclosure or drive may be failing.
