Luckyly I found an easy solution.
Close yahoo messenger
STEP -1
go to Start Button - Run - type regsvr32 jscript.dll - then press OK
STEP-2
go to Start Button - Run - type regsvr32 vbscript.dll - then press OK
After that everything worked smoothly.

You may have scripting disabled in your Internet Explorer.
To enable scripting:
Click "Tools"
Click "Internet Options."
Click "Security" tab.
Click "Custom Level" button.
Scroll down to "Script ActiveX.controls marked safe for scripting"- enable

After updating check you do not have old versions of Flashplayer, Shockwaveplayer and Java running alongside the latest - this can cause conflicts

Guys.. i am in desperate need for help.. i recently installed NOD32 Antivirus and Sygate Personal Firewall. Ever since i installed those two programs, i had problems with Yahoo Messenger immediately. I CAN Log in to my account, the only problem is that whenever i try to send an instant message to someone, after pressing enter, all i get is BLANK. I got the assumption that the person didnt receive my message, but, the irony of it all, they did receive the message, i just didnt see it. SO, i tried using TRILLIAN and YAHOO MESSENGER at the same time to try it for myself. I sent an instant message to myself using another account *yahoo messenger still* to my other account in Trillian. Again, after pressing ENTER, no message appeared. YET, on my TRILLIAN WINDOW, there my message was. I tried using Trillian and sending my YAHOO MESSENGER account a message and all i get is a BLANK MESSAGE... could someone help me configure any advanced rules for sygate to allow certain ports for my Yahoo Messenger to function properly? Please???

You won't see anyone else listed in the Chat room until you've passed the verification process. To do this you'll need to click the verificationlink given in the Chat room window. The "Chat Room Verification" window opens, where you can enter the word verification text (please note that this text is not case sensitive).
If you don't see the "Chat Room Verification" window load when clicking on the verification link, this is maybe because you currently have pop-up blocker software installed. To confirm that pop-up blocker software is interfering with loading of the "Chat Room Verification" page, please hold the Ctrlkey down while clicking the verification link and the new window should load. Now all you'll need to do is to enter the word verification text and click Submit
If still can;t go on chat room, i suggest you install and reinstall Yahoo Messenger again by clicking here http://messenger.yahoo.com/download/
