1) Check the "Economy Throttle" setting (or some similar verbage). Inverter types dont have to run full speed to produce full voltage.

2) Apply a load. These magically accellerate and decellerate according to load conditions.

Why do my car cuts off when i get off of the asellorater

Could possibly be the speed sensor malfunctioning. Have it checked or just run the idle screw up a couple turns for now to keep it running. Once it keeps running, turn the screw back out to a proper idle. And sometimes it's the AC speed up solenoid not working to raise the idle when AAC is on.

Idle speed depends on a number of factors; for instance it may idle faster when the air conditioner is on. Instead of a fixed idle speed, as in the old cars, the engine computer sets the speed to whatever is needed to run any accessories and maintain smooth operation, but generally not more than that. That's under normal circumstances. There are several failure modes that cause erratic idle speed; usually the engine will also run roughly.

It idles fast if I turn the idle down it stalls running rich on top end at fast idle sometimes it will drop to a very low idle and shut off

adjust the idle mixture screws first and then adjust the idle speed screw to compensate
adjusting the idle mixture screws will alter the idle speed but when properly adjusted then adjust the idle speed screw,

IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE IDLE SPEED TOO LOW. IDLE SPEED SHOULD BE 750 - 850 RPM. IDLE SPEED NEED TO BE CORRECT OR IT WILL CAUSE ENGINE RUN ROUGH OR STALL OUT.AC COMPRESSOR WILL TAKE SOME POWER FROM ENGINE WHEN AC IS OPERATING.

Trying to adjust the idle speed. running at 1500 instead of 1250 rpm

The idle speed is controlled by the bikes computer, the ECU. The 1500RPM idle is normal. If you purchase a Race ECM from Erik Buell Racing (http://www.erikbuellracing.com) you can get one with a slightly lower idle programming. The bike does not like to idle low, hence the 1500RPM stock idle.

Starts, idles and runs but quits after a few seconds of cutting

Check the air cleaner and muffler for plugging. One screw adjusts the idle stop (idle speed) position and the H and L jet screws set fuel mixture for high speed and idle speed mixture respectively. Turn both jet screws CW to stops (lightly) then back each out CCW 1-1/2 turns. This is a basic setting and should allow the engine to start and run. Start the engine and allow to warm up. Pull the throttle full on and adjust H CW until the engine starts to speed up, but 4-strokes. Correct adjustment is when the engine 4--strokes running free, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Release the throttle and adjust L needle CW until the engine idles fairly well, but allows the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Adjust the idle speed screw so that the chain stops turning, but the engine will continue to run. Hope this helps!

Check for intake leaks where the carburetor manufolds connect to the heads, when it is running at idle dpray WD40 around the area if the idle increases there is a intake leak.
reolace the gasket/gaskets,and since the carb will be off clean it or have a mechanic do it.

When I have it on it stays on high idle speed. When I push the auto idle it will not change the speed to normal. It idles at high speed all time.

If you have anything plugged into the generator, consuming any electric, it will run at high. It must run at high speed to generate 120V. It will only idle if your turn off the load.

Yamaha ef2800i when running in the eco mode must have the choke partialy pulled out. Wants to cycle up/down if choke not engaged. Runs fine when not in eco mode. Bought it used, started fine but I failed to check the idle function. It will continue to run withe choke pushed in but cycles up/down like there might be a fuel problem?
