The
PV-GS180 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.
You can use the disc that is provided with the cam install the software from the disc then connect the cam with the PC and wait a while until the driver get installed.
Hi, I managed to down load mine by connecting with a firewire and setting the camera to playback mode (not PC), opening imovie, turning the camcorder on and selecting file -' import from camera". a screen came up then I started playback on the camcorder and was able to select import from the screen on the imac.
Follow the instructions very carefully. Remember to connect your camera - in "play mode" before you run the setup.exe file. You must also be logged in as administrator.(or run the file as administrator ).
I have about 2 dozen of these that my students use at my school and the power supplies are kept in a locked room only to be used by me. The reason? They get easily damaged.
The little metal part that plugs into the back of camera is often the culprit. If the power supply/charger is pugged in and the metal tip at the other end touches anything metallic (keys, metal tripod, etc.), it will short out and render the unit useless.
If the amber light doesn't go on on the charger, and you are sure you it properly connected to a power source, then my guess is that it's a damaged power supply.
