SOURCE: DVI input on monitor not working

Contacted viewsonic about this issue- they suggested- have both dvi and vga hooked up to same machine. start with poweroff on both. power on monitor, then power on computer. when you see display coming from the vga, power off pc, then disconnect vga cable, turn off power to monitor, disconnect power cord from monitor for 5 + seconds, reconnect power cord, power on monitor, then power on pc.
If this doesn't work to get the dvi working, (as happened to us) we returned our monitor for a replacement, since it was still under warranty.

SOURCE: DVI connection fault

I had the same problem, you must call Viewsonic to change your screen. The DVI input on the screen is dead.

SOURCE: Viewsonic VE175b Monitor Powers Up Doesn't Display Windows OS

Hi; I had the same problem. I know that sometimes devices require you to perform some type of '10-30 second' "hold" of one or some of its buttons in order to 'reset' the device, so to speak. So, having said that, try this:

1) Turn your monitor off (no green light) but leave it plugged in.
2) Leave it off for about 10 seconds.
3) Hold the [2] button on your monitor (the one to the immediate LEFT of your monitor's POWER button).
4) While holding the [2] button, now press and HOLD your POWER button.
5) Wait for your image to appear and STAY onscreen for about 5 seconds, then release both buttons.
6) Your monitor should retain its onscreen image.

Hope this helps! Good Day to all!

SOURCE: Black screen, power button flicks

The monitor should come when the power button is pressed once - period. If not, and it continues to happen when connected to another PC, then the hardware is having trouble powering up the panel / ccds and it should be replaced/serviced according to the terms of the warranty. I suggest to bring it to an authorized service center for proper diagnosis & fix the problem. regards

ViewSonic VG2030wm speakers not working

you are unable to get an image on your ViewSonic monitor, first check that the necessary cables are attached correctly and that the proper drivers are installed. ViewSonic offers drivers for download directly through its website (see Resources).

Some LCD monitors use a VGA input while others take advantage of the newer DVI interface to provide a connection to PCs (some ViewSonic monitors offer both types). When connecting your monitor for the first time, you'll need the right type of cable for both your monitor and computer. In some cases an adapter may be necessary to convert the DVI signal from your monitor to work in a VGA input on your PC.

Check that the VGA or DVI cable is tightly attached to the back of your monitor and to the back of your PC. Use the small thumb screws on the ends of the connectors to keep everything tightened in place, which will prevent the cable from getting loose.

ViewSonic monitors also use a power cable to plug into a power source. If the power light does not comes on, check that the power cable is inserted fully into the back of the monitor and that it is plugged into a working wall outlet or a reliable surge protector.

I have a ViewSonic VX2025wm who works for only 2 sec after going black when it's working with VGA. I ordered a cable for DVI to see if it works on DVI. my question: is the whole monitor damaged or just...

First I will try it on another PC using the same VGA cable. The problem will more likely to be failure in the power supply due to bad caps, or bad inverter circuits, or worst case will be bad lamps. See example of failed VIEWSONIC due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Memory Issue

yeah you should upgrade. Windows xp 32bit only support up to 3gb memory. You should upgrade to 64bit.
And your specs? Yeah it can run 64 bit operating systems or if you like, use Windows Vista x86 or x64 with Service Pack 1.

IBM T860 Monitor (9494HB0)

Hi,

Assuming that nothing is electronically wrong with the IBM 9494, it should work with the old monitor cable (VGA) as well as the old monitor power cord.
