When trying to connect, my Skype screen appears with my name and all my contacts but it does not connect and I don't get the usual green tick in Skype icon and when trying to reach the Skype helpline it...
try uninstalling and reinstalling skype from the internet you can get the skype setup file from the below mentioned url download it and save it in the dasktop

click on download now
and save it in the desktop its very easy

CAUTION -before doing that make sure you get all your contacts saved in the computer

Skype prob
One thing you can do make a video call to another user.
This will test your bandwidth capacity of sending video and receiving at the same time.
You can tell your partner to do the same test with another user.
I guess that your partner internet connection is slow.That is low bandwidth...

Your cache is getting full and some things will come in and some won't. Try deleting your temperary internet explorer files
