can mean lots of things. but corrupted OS is one.
or the kids played in BIOS page boot order and set it wrong.

What you can do is this, goto start settings control panel. Addremove Programs. uninstall internet exploere 8, restart computer. then go here for a new download of internet exploere 8 and install.

I have the mobile handset samsung GM S 3310. I am usuing Aircel Pocket internet in this phone. Surfing net is not a problem from the handset , but unable to connect it to my laptop.
Before dial up, it gives :error 734 ..ppp links protocol terminated. Therefore I Can not connect pc to handset as the dial up connection is not established.

Did you try to install the new version of internet explorer? Try version 7. If you really can't surf the internet you must find a way to download or order internet explorer and uninstal it of your laptop. If this don't work you may have a virus. Try to instal your version of windows or another os again.
