Re: How to remove drum scretch from Canon 6045 Copier
You cannot fix a line of a drum. If the drum is causing a line on copies you have to replace it. Any light or fingerprints can cause further problems. Look online or at your local canon dealer for the drum unit.

E019 means your waste tank is full. In iR1018/iR1020 series copier, waste tank is located at drum unit. First, remove the drum unit from the machine. Second, open the white plastic lid of the waste container. Third, drain the waste. Re-fit the plastic lid of the waste container and re-insert the drum.
Could be the drum or the fuser causing your problem. To replace drum you need to open the machine by hitting the gray release latch on eft ide of machine to clamshell it open. Inside you will see th toner cartridge/ dv unit on the far right and immediately to the eft of that is the drum unit. You need to release the dv unit by turning a lever before removing the drum unit. Should probably call a tech to do this for you so you dont scratch or damage the drum. Drum life on that model is about 30,000 prints. Whats the meter reading on that copier?
there may be problem with primary charging roller. to replace the primary charging roller, take out the drum unit, remove plastic cover, remove three screws of the shaft plate, take out the drum, detach primary charging roller from stand and replace .
This is an analog copier that does not store any form of company data. Any data that is on the machine is strictly limited to operating usage, such as job settings, etc.
There is no hard drive or memory that needs removing.
This copier was not networkable or able to scan and save documents. It used lights and mirrors to transfer an image to the drum and then onto paper. The drum is wiped every page. A similar example would be an old film camera. Once you throw away the film, there is no image remaining.
There is a panel you open on the Right side of the keypanel.Insert the bottle upsidedown and hook in place slide the plastis handle of the hoper unit to the right and the toner will fall from the bottle inside the hopper unit.Close the hoper unit slide before removing the toner.
I would reset the Photo conductor unit. It will have a Green drum in it. I would make sure it is set in the machine all the way, and that the drum door opens completly. BLANK copies are and indication the paper has NOT touched the drum to recieve an image.
