me too faced same problem with my HTC Phone ..... My Phone also locked of no reason
i tried to get from my service provider ......... they couldn't help me ......... some friends suggested me to get it from third party..........................
then i surfed in google and other forums and found N-Number of sites ..................

in windows, right click on the CD player with you cd in it.
click explore and look for USB Drivers.
Install the drivers and try hooking your phone up again.
Try using a fast USB 2.0 port on the computer.
