I was handed the same model the other day. You're Lucky it clicks. The one I have is completely dead. I will give you an idea to try. Unplug your TV set......for a few days. Find someone who has acess to a variac transformer....And see if your tv will come on at about 70 volts...Somewhere less than 90 volts. If it will powerup, you will need the powerline regulator replaced. Part# STR X6459. I will purchase one for the tv I have and see if this will correct my problem.

Unplug the TV for maybe 10 minutes, then turn it on. Sometimes these units simply need to recycle. If that doesn't work, you've likely got serious problems.

Tv wont turn on the timer/standby light lickers

Open up the tv. On the boards that have connectors, de-attach all of them, one by one. Use a can of "duster" to clean out each receptical, then re-attach each piece. Do this to each and every connector on the boards inside. This should solve the problem.
