Assuming that the new batteries are the correct type for the camera and they are fresh/fully charged, your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

2yrs old. Went thru 3 sets of batteries to get 20 pictures. Dead again. What`s the story?

Sounds like you have a short in the wiring. This is repair shop stuff, or buy a new camera time. Usually, if it is a point and shoot , it is not worth sending for repair as you'll playas much as a new camera is worth. I would look for a new camera, personally. Good luck.

I put new batteries in and I can take 1 picture then the screen goes black and it says change the batteries. What's the problem

I would try cleaning the battery terminals with a swap and a bit of rubbing alcohol.
See if that helps. Just a suggestion. Maybe the battery terminals are dirty.

1.why do my batteries last such a short time. They last around a day. . 2.When i put my sd card in these funny pictures come up on my images how do i put my original photos with that. Many thankx

Digital cameras are famously demanding on batteries. You must use good alkaline batteries or better, a set of high capacity NiMH recharegables. Zinc or "long life" batteries just aren't up to the task.

New rechargeable batteries are supplied only partially charged. You need to charge them fully before use.

I don't understand your description of the problem with the SD card. When you take pictures they will automatically be stored on the memory card. Are you saying there are other pictures there already?

The camera won't let me take pictures.

Try rechargable NiMH batteries - if you are trying Dry Cell or Alkaline, a lot of cameras need more power than those batteries can provide.

New batteries should always be charged before the first use as they loose charge lying idle in stores. All batteries do.

Picture Frame will not turn on. Put new batteries in.

If you are not able to find your connecting cable. and i am assuming your need is to transfer the data to comp. Well what you can do is you can take out the memory card and fix it into the card reader (you will get a card reader vey cheap anywhere.). and connect it to your comp. Now your card will work as a flash drive and you can transfer data easily then... Hope this helps you out.. :)

Thanks for your prompt reply. The problem has been solved!!!! I put in new batteries and the camera is functioning normally.!!!!!!! It seems the batteries in the camera were old ones and not fully charged. I think its safer to put in new batteries than to use recharged ones !!!!!!
Anyway, thank you once again and have a Happy Christmas.
Gratefully,

BATTERY EXHAUSTED

Make sure you have the internal menu for the battery selection correct.
Choosing the wrong battery may cause this.

Rechargeable batteries and alkaline batteries are not the same.

This may also be a condition and problem caused by the camera itself, and may need repair.
