Hi, using my new ac mains adapter, the camera does not work, shows err in the top display screen, if you try to take an exposure the camera clicks, any help would be appriciated

Is it an original Fuji part, your new AC adapter?
It sound like it's not powerfull enough. The ERR error is normally related to low batteries.

I had a Fujifilm FinePix S3 Pro camera and I lost the battery cover, I could not find the replacement. How could I get the replacement?

The battery cover for S3Pro is attached to the battery tray which holds four AA batteries. You should be able to buy this part from your local Fuji shop.
Part number is
BU01990-100 BATT CART ASSY

Fuji s1, when I power up I get "Err" message on top LCD screen. Batteries are all freshly new.

"Err" message relates to the batteries.
If constantly lit, It's the AA batteries. When flashing, it's the lithium batteries. It can also be the tiny switch in the media door. Try activating it gently with a pointy object to see if the message disappears.

have you tried the reset to factory settings? in your user manual it tells you how to reset everything.

Display panel shows "Err"

it sounds like maybe the pins in the back of the memory car port may have gotten damaged when you did not get it in straight, I don't know of anyplace in your area to have the camera serviced, but I think it will be a costly repair.

Fuji finepix s2 pro

the lithium batteries power the flash and some of the metering. But if they drop below a certain power, the camera dies. The F33 error is probably the accidental movement of the aperture ring on the lense. If you get the error, check the aperture ring is set.

Ensure the batteries are the correct kind and chemical makeup (yes it does make a difference!)
try using lithium or alkaline as oppose to standard =]

Otherwise there may be an issue with the camera itself, check for warranty? if it isnt under warranty, document the error message/number, consult the manual AND the support site for the manufacturer.

good luck! =]

Error msg fuji s2

couple of things:
I take it that "Err" shows on the display ? This can be caused by a number of things, including the aperture ring on the lense being in the wrong position. Make sure its set to the orange number. The 'err' message isnt generally shown for a power problem. If you have a DC power lead, attach that and see if you can get the camera to work.
Batteries are a nightmare for the S2.
Firstly, if looking for rechargeable AA's, you need at least 2300mAh. Maplin are doing a good deal till the end of the month on them; http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=46414
If you have the small lithium batteries in, then take them out. If the camera senses that they are in there, it will try and use them -even if they are depleted. You can replace them with CR123a batteries, but unless you want to use the on-camera flash, I wouldnt bother. DONT BUY RECHARGEABLE CR123A s !! They do not have anywhere near enough power.
Summary; Check aperture ring remove/replace CR123a (High quality replacement) Use high power AA's
let us know if this works

What is the difference between the F1 & the F2 film simulation mode?

F1 simulation mode suppresses flaring in flash highlights when the flash is used and stresses smooth tonal transitions in the reproduction of skin tones. It is ideal for portrait studio work where the aim is professional standard negative (i.e. Pro Neg Film). F2 simulation mode provides vibrant reproduction of natural colors such as blue skies and is ideal for landscape and nature photography. Almost like shooting with slide film (i.e. Fuji chrome/ Velvia) Note: Color spaces needs to be set on sRGB and D-Range set to wide in order to use these modes. Color, Tone and Sharpness cannot be changes in any F simulation mode.
