SOURCE: mitsubishi wd-62825 dlp

The WD62825 has a Digital Module located on the left side of the chassis looking at it from the rear of the set. It's housed in a metal box that can slide out of its holder after removing the trim screws.
The module has its own power supply board and there are a group of 16v/1000uf caps on that board which commonly fail causing the constant flashing standby light. Further back on the module is a small board about the size of a matchbook called the E2P module. Its SMT (Surface Mount Technology) caps also commonly fail which can cause the same symptoms. Techs can tell whether the E2P has failed by simply removing it, hooking the DM back up and trying to power the set. If it powers on the picture won't be much good - but at least you can tell what's keeping it down...
Back to the caps on the pwr board. If they've failed they usually will buldge visibly on top. And ESR is almost not necessary. In any event that's the nuts and bolts on this model.
Is it a job for a layman? Yes and no - you might strongly consider a tech if you don't feel comfortable removing all the connections that the DM has with the signal board. There are about six - multi-pin - wired connections to unplug and then sliding the DM out of the unit and carefully removing the screws and latching to take the DM top cover off...
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: wd 52525 52 in dlp tv screen needs cleaned

all you have to do is, take the 12 screws out from around the screen, from the back, there are also like 4 of them on the front, but usually , you can just lean the screen out far enough to use a swifer sweeper in there, and the dust isnt going to be on the back of the screen, it will be on the projecter, do the screen while the tv is on, then you will realy see the dust on the projecter

On a Mitsubishi DLP wd-60638 do you have to clean the color wheel now and then

Hi Deilbert

If you are Tech Savvy, A quick careful air blow inside from a Camera Type Air Can could clear any dust accumulation and cool the projector down somewhat.
There are many moving parts & sensitive items.
If you do attempt to clean it with a can of air
Be very careful or it could be an expensive item.

The Modern LCD or LED or Plasma Screens are fully digital computers & have no moving parts.
My next one will be an LED or OLED as the price of power is going up and any savings around the house are welcome.
Even my Light Bulbs are all LED Now

These TV's are so dependent on Mechanical items & Timing & High Power Lamps. Just Glad I don't own one.
Must be expensive to run of electricity.

Good Luck
Cheers TJH

72 in mitsubishi tv has tiny white specs allover inside of entire screen can this be cleaned by me, I can hardly see picture is this picture tube or pixels. tv is not that old but located in not a very...

I suspect you have a DLP TV. The problem is the DLP chip. The mirrors are stuck and the DLP chip needs replacement. Mitsubishi does not make a 72" TV so that is why I suspect its a DLP type. It is not user repairable and there is no trick to get around it. You need a repair person or a new TV. (get a new TV trust me)

How to clean mirror and optics mitsubishi 73 dlp

You have to remove the lower panel on the back of your tv, then remove the light engine. Unhook the wires attached to the DMD board. Remove the DMD board. Remove the heat cink from the DMD board. remove the optical lens but don't touch the lens. There is a video on shopjimmy.com that shows the entire procedure. Takes 2 hours. The optical lens can be cleaned with an eyeglass cloth, same for the DLP chip lens. no wet solutions on lenses. Remove dust from other internal parts with compressed air in a can. Your picture will be clean and clear. Wear latex gloves and make sure you are grounded to prevent static electricity.

How do you do a convergence on the wd73286?

Hi,
Mitsubishi WD-73286 is DLP tv that does not have any convergence circuit inside.
Convergence is required in old model rear projection tv that has three basic colors picture tubes to generate color picture that projected on front screen of tv.
DLP tv has light engine to generate picture, it is similar to multimedia projector that throws its picture on wall.
Hope this info will help.
Thanks.

Mitsubishi 56 inch dlp, screen says tv will turn off in a few seonds, air flow seems to be blocked,tv turns off and orange light comes on???? Have to push reset button to clear orange light, this is constant...

Hello!! It might be either that the tv is overheating because of the lack of air, or it may also be your ballast.
First of all I recommend you clean the fans, so the air flow won't be blocked, don't use something that mioght damage some of the boards that are inside, you can buy one of those air cans to clean computers, if that does not work, I recommend you listen closely and notice if there's a clicking sound, if so it might be the ballast.
