Just patch up Windows 98 and you get USB filesystem drivers up to a certain size. You can look on the flash drive maker's site for particulars on fancier USB pen drives (e.g. with fingerprint authentication etc.) and perhaps drivers. Otherwise you get to use a VM on a modern machine to move files where the Win98 environment can see them.
you will need the USB drivers to use the flash drive on windows 98..if you have the cd then install the drivers or look at the iball website http://cr.am/framed.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.iball.co.in%2F&ref=driverguide hope it helps!
Let us know the manufacturer ,model no,gb of the pen drive you are using so that we can direct you using proper drivers for windows 98..I will suggest you to install windows xp as it don't require any drivers for pen drive ,it install it automatically...but still if you want to go with windows 98 and want to download drivers then let us know more information regarding the pen drive...
did you copy an installation of win98 to your pendrive and you want to boot it from there? check your bios/pc setup settings if it supports boot from USB,
Windows 98 is not capable of recornizing the mass storage devices, but windows 2000 and XP, vista has the capability to automatically recognize the USB mass storage devices.
Thats why your Windows 98 is not recognizing. So, to use the mass-storage device like your pen drive you have to install device driver to your windows 98 system for your pendrive.
If you don't have the driver, then goto pendrive manufacturer site, there you can found the driver for your pen-drive for windows 98, download it, and install on your windows 98 system..... n njoy,,... :))
You can try to find vendor-specific drivers for each and every pen drive you use, but this is the mass storage driver so it will be one driver for all of them just like Windows xp.
