The electric outlet box in the ceiling (is there only one black and one white wire to be connected)? If so, you have to connect the black and blue wires from the fan to the black house wire. If you know this is already done, you next have to check the connetor from the light assembly to the connector of the fan unit ( that these coneectors are properly fitted). If this is ok , then the final item to check would be the pullchian switch for the light. Over-ride this switch (jump its connection) to see if light works, or take the light unit and apply ellectric to itfrom an extension cord (after you remove it from fan unit). Then you will know if wire connections within light are ok. All this assumes ther fan is not controlled by electronic remote control. If you have a remote control, thenit could be the circuit broard within the fan that sends a signal to the light. Good Luck, Macgivor

Lights won't work on Harbor Breeze ceiling fan

Did you check for corrosion inside of the light sockets?
I see you replaced the pullchains too, that is a good step.
I found this article that has some really good step by steps on how to diagnose this problem, as well as images and videos that should help you through this problem

The light works but the fan won't work

Was it an add-on light? If so, pull the light switch once and try the remote again. If not, you probably need a new receiver.

My control won't activate the light on my Hunter fan. The light comes on via pull chain fine, and the control works the 3 speeds on the fan, but the light won't respond.

Check the wiring on your receiver to make sure the light wire is connected. You have to have the light on with the pull chain and then use the remote to turn it on/off.

My Fanimation Islander FP320 stopped working, I've replaced the wall switch but fan won't spin and lights won't dim.

Check to make sure your fan is set on the high speed & the light is at the on possition with the pull chains.

Fan will not work

mcdevito75 here, Most likely yes, Check the fan by carefully turning it just a liitle by hand, also check for heat at the fan motor base, close to the ceiling. If heat or fan won"t start by hand, replace it.
