System down with message "Lithium Battery Only"

My camera started showing message "***Lithium Battery Only***" then shut down automatically.

The battery is fully charged and I've tried another battery. Looks like the protection circuit can not recognise the battery properly.

Anyone has clue and suggetion?

Thanks,

Yes, I have seen this problem in the workshop. The problem is not with the battery, but with your camera.

The automatic AC-DC switching cct of the DC-DC converter is faulty. Depending on the model of your camcorder ( I think you have one? ) this could either be quite a cheap repair or more expensive than a new camcorder.

A older model would most likely not be worth repair.

Sorry about the bad news.

My Casio ExilimEX-Z120 shows 'Low Battery' whenever it is turned on to take a picture and automatically turns off. This happens with fresh batteries. It is fine when I just use the the picture...

It happens because some alkaline batteries just don't have the initial surge of power output required to drive all the little motors, the display and so on.

You need lithium batteries, like the 8x Ultimate Lithium.
They are expensive initially, but on average are more economical than the cheaper stuff.

I've tested them on my Kodak Z712 IS, and any owner of this camera knows what I'm talking about.

The best -and cheapest- solution I found, is the rechargeable Li-Ion batteries.
I got 2 batteries and one charger. I'm using one battery, while the other one is charging.

Screen message

Your battery is not making contact with all three contacts, thus making the camera believe you are not using an infolithium battery, creating the error message. Clean the contacts on the camera with isopropyl alcohol and the contacts on the A/C charger.

Camera shuts down automatically. sometimes doesnot turn on.

Sounds like you're using the wrong batteries: Please read and try the following: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

Low Battery Light Even with Brand New Lithium Batteries

If indeed the batteries are brand new and without a doubt charged,
then you definitely have a hardware problem in the camera.

You're probably going to have to give it in to be serviced.

Hope I helped!

Kodak Z812 shuts off automatically

It is a high-powered camera, also knows as a GREAT camera. Use CRV-3 lithium duracell batteries. I have the same camera and the same "problem", but when I use that battery it lasts forever.

Replace battery sign in New canon A590si camera.

You're using the wrong batteries. You need to purchase lithium batteries. They are quality batteries for high powered, battery operated electronics. Personally, I have a battery charger and use rechargable duracell batteries. (HR6/ DC1500/ NiMH/ 1,2V) Gives you approximately 16 hrs before having to recharge.

S2 pro electronic malfunction?!?!

If your lithium batteries are depleted, having them in the camera will shut it down. A common cause of depleting the lithium batteries is leaving them in the camera while using the AC power adapter. For some odd reason, the Fuji engineers did not build in a disconnect circuit when on AC power. You should always remove the lithium batteries when using the AC adapter.

The Fuji S2 will run fine without the lithium batteries, except that you will not be able to use the built-in flash. Fuji recommends that as an "emergency" procedure, but I ran my S2 off NiMH AAs only for my heavy use over four years with no adverse effects.

If you buy the MB-16 battery pack or one of the modified versions for the S2, you would be able to use 8 AA batteries to power the camera, including the built-in flash, and never touch another lithium battery. The MB-16 itself does require some modification in filing off edges around the base and building up material around the post to firmly engage the switch you found.

Camera shuts down when the flash is opened

the flash circuit of the camera is short. the moment you switch on the flash it drops the supply voltages of the battery. you have to show it to a repairer.
