My camera started showing message "***Lithium Battery Only***" then shut down automatically.
The battery is fully charged and I've tried another battery. Looks like the protection circuit can not recognise the battery properly.
Anyone has clue and suggetion?
Thanks,
Yes, I have seen this problem in the workshop. The problem is not with the battery, but with your camera.
The automatic AC-DC switching cct of the DC-DC converter is faulty. Depending on the model of your camcorder ( I think you have one? ) this could either be quite a cheap repair or more expensive than a new camcorder.
A older model would most likely not be worth repair.
Sorry about the bad news.
When you "start" the computer, and the {"Screen"} displays a "Error Message."[CMOS] "error checksum!"
Settings: "Default" loaded.A "checksum error" shows that:
The ("Boot-up Settings "have been changed?"), ie. "Booting OS."
*Boot File 'missing'.
"This can 'occur' if the computer was "shut-down unexpectedly."
Force Shut-down : Power lost; due to 'low battery...'
A ("Power Surge") can cause this 'problem' also.
"What 'happens is that the [CMOS] settings are lost!".
"To fix the problem!"
Do the following:
"Restart / Boot the computer.
Next, verify if the 'error message' displays?
If you are still getting the message?
"You will have to "Remove the CMOS battery form the computer!"
Shut-down the computer.
"Unplug the computer from the {Wall Out-let}.
Remove the Lithium battery from the "Notebook."
There is a compartment (underneath) the "Notebook that 'store' the CMOS battery."
"You will need a {very small Phillips screwdriver}. *Remove the CMOS battery for: [30 minutes].
!Important: If you have to do it again?
Remove the CMOS battery for a {'longer amount of time'}.
Replace the "CMOS battery."
Next, "Only plug the Power Adapter into the computer.
"Do not - replace the "Lithium battery!"
Once you have completed these 'task'.
"Restart the computer."
"Press the [F2] key, to 'enter' the CMOS / BIOS Setup!"
Next, 'reset' (all) "Values to the Default Settings."
"Press the [F10] key to 'Save' the changes!"
!Important: "Take a 'moment to rate the help', so I can get 'credit' for the work.
Thank you!" - paul7of9
