Hi,
My 5 year old LG WD-1219BD has the error code LE i.e. ''overload in motor'' A service call will cost about $150 before they do anything. What's the most likely cause of the fault and do you think I should just dump it? Mike
Hi,
LE is a very bad error unfortunately. It means that your motor
communication is being lost. Generally on these LG washers it means
that you need to replace the motor sensor. You will have to take the
back panel off so that you can access the motor, remove the pulley and
take the motor off, there is a little plastic sensor that clips onto
the edge of the motor. The sensor is not sold separately from the motor
so you will have to replace the motor unfortunately.
Part would cost you around $120 plus labor.
This is a common error on LG. Better to repair and use it or fix it yourself.
Hope i helped you,
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed
when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor
is locked up. A Hall Effect sensor is used in these washers which monitors the
speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the
control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when there
is an issue with the motor or when the Hall Effect sensor sends wrong signal to
the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall sensor and
replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going bad. Please
get back to me if you have any other questions.
