There is not a clutch on an electric chain saw, it is direct drive when the electric motor ia activated. If the chain is binding it will stop the chain.
Hello Jennifer;
The number of drive links, pitch and gauge of the chain need to be determined to answer your question. If you take your saw or just the chain to a local chain saw outlet a new chain can be fabricated in a very few minutes. This will save shipping and handling fees as well. While there get the numbers mentioned above. Once you have these you can likely find a low kickback chain in a local home center the next time the chain needs replacement.

I assume you are asking about the oil for the chain. Any good quality "Bar and Chain Oil" will do fine. Do not use motor oil you use in your car engine as it will not properly lube the chain and will result in quicker dulling and early demise of the chain.
You can get the "Bar and Chain Oil" at most hardware stores or Farm Supply stores.
Actually, I own one of these battery operated Ryobi chain saws too. It is normal for the saw to run slow. Remember it is battery powered, not gas, so its not going to be a high rpm saw. Be patient whit it, and you'll get about 4-6 cuts per battery. I take mine camping. It sure is nice not having to listen to a two-stroke while relaxing in the woods! Dont plan on cutting lots of stuff, either, or you'll burn up the motor. This thing works great for very mild workloads.
Does the blade turn by hand? If so, then the motor bearings are ok. The motor uses brushes as part of the electrical process--they can be worn out or stuck. Internal wiring breakage can result from vibration. Bad power switch? Open winding within the motor?
i have a pro electric grass trimmer (pro700gta)with the same switch as the hyundai edger that is broken. I also would like to know where to get a replacement part(fa3-4 8(8)a 250v-5e4 szmd co.,ltd)
Batteries need to be stored fully charged and recharged every month or so while in storage. Batteries need to be kept cool. Try another battery to see if the battery is bad or if the saw is out of order. Contact Ryobi @ 800 -525-2579 The full extent of your message did not appear on my screen.
