The left mouse key broke loose on my HP Pavilion dv6-1234dx

Apparently the obvious is not obvious. The problem is with the built-in mouse on the laptop, not an external mouse. Previous submission: The left mouse key broke loose on my HP Pavilion dv6-1234dx and I cannot see how to get it back into place. The Geek squad at Best Buy said it has to be shipped to their repair center and it will take 3 weeks. I don't want to be without my computer for 3 weeks. Is there any kind of easy fix?

Looking for exploision diagram of hp pavillian g61 laptop. shows power going to power insert but computer wont turn on. the

Cannot post a direct link to a PDF file, to my knowledge.
Copy the above URL, then paste it in your browser address bar. Press the Enter key.

This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
After you press the Enter key, it may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up.
It may also take additional time for the file to fully download.

Pavilion G62 and Compaq Presario CQ62, but I thought looking at pictorial information on a Pavilion model that is close, would help out.

{ In case you are not familiar with Copy and Paste;

Put your mouse cursor on the h of h10032.www1.hp........above.
Press the left mouse key down, and hold it down.
Slide the mouse cursor across the entire URL.

It will be highlighted in blue.
Let go of the mouse button.
Press, and hold down on the CTRL key, and at the same time press the c key.

Put your mouse cursor in your browser address bar.
(In my address bar right now it shows - www1.fixya.com/postanswer.aspx?thid=10643288&prdid=0&ctgid=8&ref=unsl )

Left-click once. Press, and hold down on the CTRL key, and at the same time press the v key.
Now press the Enter key ]

Reattach Shift key

If it's the same as mine, there is a little white plastic frame that sits under the mouse... Make sure the frame is attached to the underside of the mouse key, and press into position on the keyboard, pushing down onto the REAR of the button first, until you hear it click, then do the same to the front.

I have a HP pavilion laptop and cannot locate the FN plus button or the on/off switch to turn the wireless on / off.

This would be located on the front left, right below the mouse pad next to the left corner. Its usually a black switch that you could turn left for off, and right for on. when on it should show a blue light, and when off yellow...

Hi guys i broke the left button on my hp pavilion dv6 1210sa note book and can not find replacement part i dont want to use a exturnal mouse either thanks

Well first you'll need to know how to take your laptop apart so I did find a website that can help you with that:

http://www.insidemylaptop.com/take-apart-hp-pavilion-dv6000-laptop/

The only problem is that you would need to replace the whole motherboard to actually get a "working" mouse. Sorry, I feel your pain.

Loose left button mouse on an hp dv4-1120us

If only the one button is loose then touch pad assembly probably will require replacement. This isn't a big job but usually involves opening the case. Two screws and one connector and button it back up. If the laptop is new you should have this covered by warranty. Cost of the part should be about $30-$70 as well as labor.

If you are lucky you might just have a loose fitting button that you can snap back in to place. With the laptop off try to gently push/wiggle the button down. It might pop back into its mounts. If this works (slight chance) then it might work normally for a while and pop out again. It won't have fixed the wear that let it come loose.

LOOSE KEY

Set it on the space where it should be in the correct way then gently pop it in. Look on the key if there are obvious stress points where it possibly broke. If there are none then it should pop in correctly. If not you might have to use some type of adhesive.
