I had same problem. been looking for individual keys and the retainer clips. found website here: http://www.machinaelectronics.com/store/ they sell kits for about $5 to repair missing keys. i just ordered a part so i can't say from experience yet but the pictures look accurate. they also sell parts for several other common brands / models and have an assortment of other parts available.

I have a lenovo Y5100 which i bought 3 yrs back.. the problem i am facing is that post formatting the computer last month i tried to upload the vista recovery disk. This works fine but only for a month....

Welcome to Fixya

Try to restore the computer back to factory state instead of using the RCD. Turn off the computer then push the small button located beside the power button. The screen should show you the One key recovery. Select one key racovery then select restore from initial backup.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Hi,i am using lenovo ideapad y510 the screen will not displaying what is the problem

Hi. If the laptop is turning on then try draining the electrostatic enerygy of the motherboard. Take out the battery and unplugged the power cord from the wall socket. Press nad hold the power button for 30 sces to drain the electrostactic energy. Put everything back in after 30 sces and turn ON the computer. If still same problem then this could be a LCD problem. You may call lenovo technical support at 1-877-453-6686 then press option 3 if you want to have the issue repaired.

Computer keeps locking/freezing after 10 mins of booting up.

since you already use one key recovery, means its no longer a software issue, either ram or video card is the problem, might need to send to service center of lenovo.

Windows failed to boot. I have tried booting it from the disc. Any ideas?

Try launching the One Key Recovery program.
1. Back up all files that
you wish to keep from the C: drive
2. Turn off the computer (no
flashing lights).
3. Press the Lenovo Care Button (small button with
upside down arrow or word NOVO written on it).
4. Select System
Recovery (very much different from the above mentioned System Restore).
5. Select to restore to factory default settings / initial settings.

My 4 year old did something to my laptop Lenovo y510 he says he just pushed the power off button and closed the book... but the lights are on and the screen is off and I cannot shut it off or get it to do...

Hi,
You will have to perform a forced shutdown on the laptop, to do this press and hold the on/off button until it goes off then power it back on again to make sure there is no damage caused.
Please post back if you need anymore help.

Inductive button

hi,
U have to install the hot key drivers available on consumersupport.lenovo.com and if u are not able to install then just install the energycut software shiopped with the machine.
When u will install go C:>windows>program files>energycut and there will be utility.exe file, run that file.
The issue should be fixed.
