Mine is intermitten. Some times it will work for a while. Then it will go off. When you push the power button it will come on for a second and then click back off. It will not stay on. You can hear the click, and hear and see the picture just for a brief second, and then it's off again. It did this when I first got it. Then it worked great for about a week. It's a second hand TV. silly question but have you tried turning it on with the remote. if a tv has been turned off by remote and then power goes, turning it on by the tv switch will put the tv back in stand-by mode and you need to use remote.
if this is projection tv that clicking sound it could be the ballast tryin to turn on a burned out lamp or the ballast could not be sending the right amount of voltage for ignition, you can check the ballast if its liking oil or if you see something burned in the board.
If you hear a clicking noise that sounds like the ballast trying to power on the lamp, but nothing happens, the lamp may be faulty.You can go to http://www.discount-merchant.com/

Count the number of flashes for the red power button. I'm not a Hitachi owner, but you can track one down here on fixya and they''ll give you more info. One of the internal components have failed and is keeping the power supply unit from firing up. Do you hear a relay click when you try to turn it on? If so, how many times does it try to fire up?
No schematic, major short, usually the power supply or high voltage circuit, nothing you yourself can do. Pro repair about $450.00. If your in electronics replace the HV transistor first.. then?? Please rate
Hitachis have a series o led's on the main board, mabe up to six, thesshould all light up when the set is on, o frst thing is to lookat thes LED's and see if they all light up
