My smeg fridge is making a constant cricket sound noise constantly

first check for a cricket

if no cricket is found, it's likely one of your 2 fans. one will be down by the compressor and the other is inside the freezer compartment.

After 14 months and 3 refrigerators, I'm giving up. The RF265 and RF263 series refrigerators make loud popping sounds. I've been through two RF265s and one RF263, and they all make the same noise. The...

I have had what sounds like the same problem for over a year with my Samsung RF263 refrig. It makes very loud popping noises like expansion noises when heat hits your house siding or a railroad track. The noises are loud enough that they actually startle people, and our cat. I had a repair man in last May 2013 but no luck.

I finally did a lot of listening, testing, etc. and found the problem. I noticed it would occur whenever the compressor came on. I thought it might be ice build up, so I took the cover plate off over the evaporator in the back of the refrig compartment. There was no ice build up. I then left the cover off and wiring attached and no noise after a day. After a few other trials I added some more weather stripping to increase the distance between the evaporator coils and the cover plate and that help quite a bit but not totally. I still get a pop now and then. Another problem I noticed with this partial solution is that it causes the shelving to not be aligned. A 'V' gap forms between the shelves and they droop a little. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix this but haven't had any good ideas yet.

This is a very annoying problem and a design flaw in my opinion. Whether Samsung has a solution for it I don't know but I plan on checking before my warranty runs out.

Refrigerator side makes noise, not getting cold

I have same fridge freezer & luckily a extended warranty, engineer has been out on numerous occasions & the motor is getting freezed up, which is why the noise stops when the door is opened. Get rid of it! No solution to the problem...its a faulty appliance & a well known fault with this model or so I have been told. Good luck.

Chirping noise from Freezer and Refrig

Simple fix. Unplug refrigerator, locate fan, wipe clean from collected dirt etc. and spray a little WD-40 on the shaft. Spin the fan. Plug in and voila, chirp is gone.

Permanent fix, replace motor.

Noisy air flow problem, I think

the GE refrig has a variable speed fan motor controlled by the mother board located on teh rear of you refrig. the noise your hearing is the fan speed ramping up and down. if this noise is constant its possible the contoller on the mother board is bad and the board needs to be replaced. hope this helps...
