The DVD player wont read dvd's. I have to retry the dvd several times before it works. I don't use fake DVDs ever. Recently, over the last month, the problem has been persistent. I cleaned the lens several times with a dvd cleaner set. it will read music CD immediately without problems. It reads "no disc" on display with DVD - all zones, different titles. Not specific to a dvd. I have the Warfedale WH-DVD TB256. Please help

my friend you mention that your dvd is only 6 months old i am sure that from where ever you bought that set it has warranty if i was you i would take it back if the set is under warranty.by meddling with the dvd will void its warranty.the dvd has a bad lens problem causing it not to recognize the disc.good luck my friend.

If it reads only the first track, it sounds like a mechanical obstruction of the laser assembly (something is physically blocking it from travelling on its rails). If you are so inclined, try removing the deck lid andgently pushing the laser (in an area where there's nothing fragile) along its track to see if it frees up. It doesn't usually take much.

Hi,
A couple of things To try.
1:) The DVD Player May be Region encoded, can only play certain region Dvds. ** Try different Disks**
2:) The Disk May Be Dirty-Scratched ( Towards The Centre )
** Clean The Disk With A Soft Lint-Free Cloth**
3:) The Laser Head may have a speck of dust or debris on it.
** Try a Laser Cleaning CD**
Hope this works For You.

it might have gotten a lazy eye (for want of a better explanation) i'm not familiar with this specific model but most disc players have calibration pots (variable resistors) on the main board relatively close to where the ribbon cable from the laser meets the board, one is for tracking speed (if it skips or sticks) another is for focus, if you're going to adjust these, be sure to note their position before you start and tiny adjustments during playback, start with a CD and center the pots for optimum playback, then try a DVD and fine-tune from there. i hope it works for you, good luck.
