My enV keeps turning on and off...it won't stay on or off!

Phone keeps turning on and turning off! When I turn it on, it'll shut down right after the red VCAST screen comes up then turn on and then off with the VCAST screen. Then when I take the battery out and put it back it...it does the same thing!

Can someone please help!?!

My VX9900 often reboots for no apparent reason when I am accessing VCast. I've only had the phone a few weeks, and I'm just now beginning to use VCast on it. My old VX9800 used VCast without too many problems....

I am having the same problem. I took my first phone back to Verizon and they replaced it. I now have a new phone and it has only been one week and it is doing the same thing also. I haven't placed the memory chip back in the new phone yet from the old phone, so that can't be the problem.

My phone just turns off with no rhyme or reason. I can leave it sitting on the counter having ensured that it is "on" and come back later to it being off. I have reseated the battery numerous times and don't have a memory chip. THANKS!!

My new LG enV was turning off while I was talking on the phone.  The only way I can turn it back on was to take out the battery and re-insert.  I took the phone back to Verizon.  The replacement is doing the same thing.  What is going on?  I know how to use a phone and it shouldn't be this difficult.

This must not be a good phone - I'm in Canada visiting my boyfriend and I'm having the same problem with my phone.... Not digging this phone....

My husband and I got our phones at the same time-same models-and they are both doing the same thing. My husband thinks it may be a gyroscope issue (turns itself off when it thinks it is falling to prevent damage).

I think we will take the phones to the VZW store and see if they will replace them with different phones.

I'll let you guys know what happens

Mine does this too. Won't stay on. VERY annoying. Nothing wrong with the battery; phone is 6 months old! Seems to happen when I close the phone.

Once in a while my Lg just turns off whether it in my pocket or i was using it to txt

  • camgray Dec 31, 2008

At first I thought it was something I was doing, such as putting it in my pocket/purse before the keylock was activated. But then I noticed it shutting off while I would text message and even when it was just sitting on the desk. This has been a pain and huge aggravation to have this problem. I sent LG an email since Verizon probably won't fix it since I've had the phone for a little more than a year, and the problem started about 4 months ago. I should have went to Verizon as soon as it started shutting down randomly.

My phone periodically shuts off. I have determined it is the battery is loose and loses contact. I put a small piece of folded paper under the battery to tighten it up which maybe helps.

My son had the same problem within a week of adding a MicroSD memory chip. He removed the chip and re-inserted it, and the problem went away. I am not an expert, but I assume that the chip had become loose and that it was causing the phone to lock up. When it was re-inserted the phone returned to its normal functioning.

I hope this helps anyone with a similar problem.

I had a similar problem of my enV (the original) one shutting off on me. I didn't have a memory card. When I went into a VZ store, they told me that I was using too much memory and that was preventing the phone from working properly. If you have a lot of pics stored on your phone and no memory card, this could be the issue. As soon as I deleted some of those pictures my phone stopped having the issue.

I am now on my 4th Lg EV phone (the orange one).  After being told several times it was a software problem, getting updates that take an hour, transfer of my info, and loosing various texts, etc... they finally agreed to replace my battery free of charge.  However, this last time - after just getting a new phone 30-60 days prior, I had a problem with my blue tooth pairing with my phone so they gave me another (#4).  So far KNOCK ON WOOD - the problem is gone.  so a battery could be the solution.  Be diligent and take it in so there is a record of your problem so if it on going they have to do something for you.

My LG enV VX9900 keeps turning off whenever I try to make a call. However, I can receive calls and send and receive texts.

If your phone is battery gets low for a short period of time then replace your phone battery, it is faulty or not fuctioning well. You can text or recieve calls but it may not take longer and when you try to make a call it suddenly shut down. So it is better to replace your battery with a new one to solve your phone problem.

EnV Touch Keeps resetting

I have VX11KV03 and I am having exactly the same issues; phone reseting to default display, sound, etc and trouble charging. Verizon tech support suggest a *211 call to update the software. Also, with the charging, even though this is still a hassel, unplug and replug in your phone after it says charge is complete. It will actually fill the charge the second time. Hopefully this wroks!

Phone Shuting Down

My Env was doing the same thing. I took out the battery and cleaned the connection points on both the battery and the phone with alcohol. Also make sure the snap that keeps the battery in place has no slop in it.
