There are many ways to adjust the weight of your bread. Try any (or all) of the following:
1) a little less salt.
2) a little more water
3) a little less flour
4) add 1 or 2 tablespoons of wheat glutten
5) use the dough setting and let bread rise in bread pans for a good long time (e.g. 1.5 or 2 hours)
6) 'better for bread' yeast - stored in the refrigerator

Bread maker paddle won t turn

You may need to replace your belt. Sometimes belts will slip if they are older models. Newer bread machines have belts with tiny teeth or cogs in them that align with the cogs on the pulley wheels. They don't slip like the older serpentine belts. sometimes a new belt will help. There are several videos on you tube of how to replace and install bread machine belts.

I have a black and decker bread machine modle # B2200. It makes a great loaf however near the end of the cycle the bread will fall about two inches in the centre. What are we doing wrong.

Hi, the falling loaf is not uncommon. Next time follow the same recipe and but measure your liquid very carefully and then dip out 2 tablespoons of liquid before adding all the other ingredients. It it still falls a little go to 3 tablespoons dipped out.

I have purchased a Black and Decker bread machine to replace the one which I have used for the last 15 years or so. The recipes with the new machine are atrocious; I should be able to use my recipes which...

Do you still have your old machine? If so try one of the recipes that failed in your new machine. If it fails again you may have bad ingredients. Old yeast, old flour, etc....that's the only thing I can come up with based on what you have described. If the loaf in your old machine turns out well then you should return your Black and Decker. You can find good deals on ebay on used bread machines that are tested and they show the loaf of finished bread. I have some for sale there, that I have baked in.

The machine skips the mixing cycle entirely even though the blades are on correctly. The bread rises with none of the ingredients mixed. HELP Brand New!

Which program are you choosing on your bread machine? It sounds like you might have chosen the "bake" program. Is that correct?
