Question about D-Link 802.11g Wireless Router WBR-1310 (WBR1310)

1 Answer

Hi? I have a connection problem with two web sites while using my D-Link WBR-1310 router. These web sites are poker stars .com and hulu .com On poker stars .com I?m always losing my connection On hulu .com I having problems with buffering I can solve these problems by going to the d-link website while still logged on to one of these websites. I then have to enable or disable gaming mode in Advanced Network Setting. I then save setting and reboot my computer. I quit losing my connection after rebooting and it doesn?t seem to matter if I enable or disable the gaming mode. My connection works both ways. Any suggestion how can solve this problem.

Try port forwarding. In your router open the port pokerstars runs on, then go back in the router and close it when done if you dont want to have a constantly open port on your PC. The buffering problem can be solved in your player. Go to setting or options (depending on which player you use) and increase the buffer size. If viewing media in a web browser, IE or Firefox, right click on the movie and a setting window should come up. Might be able to increase buffer size there. Also try putting the PC in "standby" mode instead of turning if off completely. This may retain your connection settings for the next time you get on hulu or poker stars.Make sure your firewall (in the router and on the PC) isn't kicking you offline too.

My WBR-1310 keeps losing connection every 10 mins or so. Is there a fix I can download to my router? (like an update or something)

Hi,
I got your issue, since your facing the frequent disconnection in the internet connection,

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/wbr1310/Firmware/wbr1310_firmware_104.bin.

Please download the firmware using this link and log into the router setup page of DLink with 192.168.0.1 and update the firmware

I'm sure this will help you to fix the issue.

Thanks & Regards,

  • You need to log into the router setup screen - you do this by connecting a PC to the Router via a cable connection and then using Internet Explorer (IE) you log into the router.
Using the default settings
  • Open a web browser and enter http://192.168.0.1 and press Enter. When the login window appears, set the user name to admin and leave the password box empty. Click OK to continue.

Section 4 of the manual - see below deals with setting the wireless security This is the support site for that router http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=WBR-1310

WBR-1310. No admin logon, only f/w upgrade page

Download firmware from site
http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=1&pid=WBR-1310&rev=WBR-1310

DLink states the login issue has been fixed with firmware v1.04 3/28/07

Remember to get the right one for your unit model. You must connect a RJ45 cable to the router and computer you have downloaded the firmware to and remember which directory it's in. When it asks for the firmware put in the target location (c:\my documents\xxxxx) of the firmware file. Good luck.

Lost Installation CD for Wireless Router WBR 1310

Here's the link to the setup file on the d-link site: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/wbr1310_revB/Apps/
I had to special request this link. If you go through all their information on their site, it states you should be able to obtain a copy of their installation CD as a download file. But you can't find it anywhere. So, after I requested it, they gave me this FTP link, directly into their server. I don't know how long this link will last. It worked as of 4-21-10.
