Vertical lines Have an RCA dlp. The bulb went out and we've replaced it. Now, vertical lines across the screen come and go. At times they are barely visible in black color(almost in the background and just a few), at other times they are all across the screen and bright white. Then, they will just go away. Does anyone know what this could be?

Do you have a cordless phone placed nearby?
i just had that problem, and realised it was because of the phone's frequency (scary!). i move the phone/base away from the tv, and it's fine now.

No vertical everything else is ok

Check and replace all the electrolytic capacitors {5 or 6 of it} at its vertical scan output section circuit. Replace all at one time. be sure about the polarity of these capacitors when replace it. As you know, all electrolytic capacitors have both +Ve and - Ve terminals, must coincide with to that the marking at the PCB. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/Pull up older posts.

Hi,If you are experimenting vertical lines ,color distortion, pixilation,or white dots on the screen you might be having an issue with the Dmd chip. This is how the DMD chip works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the dmd chip is composed of around 2 million pixels that create the image on the screen. You will need to replace in order to fix your problem.Have a blessed one!

RCA DLP/HDTV Vertical Lines

This is djb1 who commented above on the vertical lines that have gotten progessively worse. I may have found a potential solution. I unplugged the TV, took the back door off where you replace the lamp, took the lamp out, changed our vacuum from a vacuum to a powerful blower and blew ALL visable dust off anywhere that I could. I paid special attention to the heavy dust that was on the TV blower fan blades and around the mirror. I also held the blower on the outside of the TV on the vents around the lamp door.

After I plugged the TV back in, the lines have disappeared. We watched TV last night for about 2 more hours and the vertical lines never came back. So far this morning, the lines have not come back and it has been a couple hours as well.

It's worth a try. The free solution may be as simple as clearing out all dust. LET'S HOPE IT'S A PERMANENT SOLUTION!!

RCA F36674ET - Only beeps when turned on

Clearly shows problem in deflection area both horizontal and vertical section. Horizontal lines is due to vertical section problem and making bbzzzz is due to horizontal output transistor short and sometimes LOT SHORT.
