OK you are probably going to think I am loony giving you this advise But No I am completely sane!

Get a can of compressed air OR acces to a compressor at your local garage Get them to fit the triggered air blower tool to it.

Blow around the lens in all the extension joins the firmly slap it in the palm of you hand with the side of the camera making contact with you palm. Do the procedure two or 3 times and inbetween the slaps turn it on to activate the lens mechanism. I have now fixed about 80 of these cameras with this method. I obtained the fix from Sony who charge $90 to do exactly the same. Keep at it as it will eventually work. One tip, make sure the battery is charged before you do this.

Lense cover sticking on my sony cybershot w170

Most likely what is wrong is that the lens cover has become sticky, or clogged. Have you spilled a soda, etc. on it recently?
The best thing to fix this would be to aim a canister of compressed air directly in-between the lens fover and the lens, blowing anything out. If this doesnt work, then manually push the cover back with your fingernail and try again with the compressed air.

My camera lens will not go back inside it is stuck, the camera will not work at all I tried to talk to someone at sanyo in april and did not get back ahold of me then I forgot about the camera now I would...

Try this: Power the camera on then gently push on the lens while hitting the power button again so that it will try to retract the lens. but be gentle as you could damage the camera worse.
if your interested in having it fixed for around 120 or more than dont try anything and just take it to a repair company.

if that doesnt reset the camera then you can try taking the batteries out for a couple day and then put some lithium batteries in it if it takes aa's that is. They have a little higher voltage than some batteries and while sometimes give it a little more push to get things going. Leaving the batteries out would let the camera forget its memory. If you had the camera stored without batteries then don't worry about trying to reset it as that would have already happened.

Let me know how that works or if you need anymore help,
Caleb

Lens error 122.1.0.0

My friend had the same issue, and so did I. Maybe this would only do worse to yours, but it actually fixed my issue. When you turn the camera off, the lense should start to tuck in right? Maybe try giving a little push to help it out.

My camera got wet ...

Well put it away somewhere warm for another month with the battery out.

But I have a feeling that the camera has died
Nothing for you to repair in side so you wont beak anything by taking it apart for curiosity sake.
