Parts break down for hp Officejet 6500 and hp psc 2175 all-in-one . During a swap of the two printers I ended up with a spring sitting on the office desk. It is unknown which printer it came from and what its function was. The 2175 had a carriage jam that would not clear and since the spring incident I reconnected the 2175 and it is working again. I wanted to get a copy of the parts breakdown to see if I could identify the spring. It is flat about 2.5" long and raises about an inch. There is a turn back on each end and a loop at the top of the one inch part. Thanks Bill

SOURCE: psc 2175 carriage jam

Hi,

I understand that you are receiving Carriage jam error.

Please follow the below given instructions to get the issue resolved.

Here is the web document:

================

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00309142&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=90809&dlc=en&lang=en

================

Just copy and paste the entire link into the Internet browser's address bar and press enter.

Please remove the All-in-One Printer from the Power Surge Protector and plug it directly into a wall Power outlet, as the surge protector may not provide enough power to printer.

Let us power cycle your All-in-one to remove any static electricity in your All-in-one.

Please perform the step given below to power cycle the unit after removing the print cartridges from the printer:

1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug in the power only
4. Repeat steps 2-3 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one to your computer.

Please try installing the below patch and check for the result:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=oj-14037-3&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=90809&os=228&lang=en

Just copy and paste the entire link into the Internet browser's address bar and press enter

If the issue persists, try resetting the All-in-one to factory defaults by following the below given instructions:

Note:
A semi-full reset will do the following:
The user settings to the factory defaults, Language and country settings on some models, Fax logs, Fax headers, Fax speed dial information.

Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:

1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on.

2. Press and hold Cancel and the Right Arrow while plugging in the power cord.

Continue holding until it displays S Full Reset message in the front panel of the All-in-One.
This should resolve the issue.

Regards,
Lawrence

SOURCE: hp 2175 all in one.

Take this link to hp and select your printer from the list and enter your operating system, or you can let hp detect your hardware. Either will work fine.

I have a hp psc 2175 all in one printer. I need to scan some documents with a software (examview) and it says that I need to install a TWAIN driver to go on with the scanning. I can't find the driver so I...

Make sure you have the latest software package from HP.

-Go to the HP support website for that model.
-Click Software & Driver Downloads.
-Select OS.
-Click 'Driver - Product Installation Software'.
-Click 'HP OfficeJet & PSC Full Feature Software and Drivers'.
-Click the Download button.

When finished downloading, run the file you just downloaded to install the newest version of the software. You may have to uninstall the old software first.

Good luck!

HP PSC 2175 Cartridge Belt

Ok, I will try to explain how I fixed mine as best as I can. I took it all apart and realizing that the belt moved the cartridge carriage I thought 'hmmmm' and took the belt, cleaned it and the cartridge carriage and in the channel on the carriage where the belt sits (sort of W shaped) I put some 'Gorilla glue' and put the broken ends down into the glue. I let it set up for about 6 hours and my printer has been back up and running ever since. That fixed the broken cartridge carriage belt for me. Now if the other belt breaks then I guess I will have to break down and buy another printer but after 6 years of service I can't complain. And yes I have been refilling now for over 4 years. I hope this helps.
