My child put a new game in this morning and the game froze, she turned it off thinking that it was maybe something wrong with the game. she then removed the game and nothing plays or come up on the screen. that thought it may not be fully charged or something. she then charged the psp, it turned on with green light and then it goes off meantime the screen is still black, nothing comes up on the screen at all.

Well, either there is something wrong with the game or the PSP is
messing up. If i were you, i would take the game back in exchange for a
new game, but get the same game. I would try it in the PSP. If it
doesn't work then there is something wrong with the PSP. If the PSP
still has a warranty, then you can contact the manufacturers and they
could see what the problem is. If you don't want to do that and if you
Just bought the PSP then exchange it for a new one. But if you have had
it for awhile now, i don't think you could get a new PSP. So, i hope i
helped you out some. Good Luck.
ok 1 of the only solutions i can think of is to update ur software try updating to the new version.
if u already did update and thats when it started "cutting out" then find a web site to 'downgrade' it
look on youtube for web sites that can downgrade your psp.
the reason the umd wont load is because someone shut the psp off when the game was loading. so whoever did that just messed up your psp. i know cause someone did it to mine now i have to get it fixed or buy a new one. and to get the psp fixed its not guna be cheap.
I think there might be a problem with your configuration, remove all plugin then try to restore to default setting on setting menu. and/or if your psp installed Custom firmware, the umd speed are set to fast. do this via recovery menu (hold R trigger while turn on psp). you may need to fix L button if it is stuck. you may consoder sending it back to Sony for repair. You can call SONY support at 1-800-345-7669. hope this helps.
