If the phone specify that the TV is analog, you are wasting your time. There is one phone that is suppose to come out soon, is called Sciphone N21, 5.0 MP camera and a digital TV Tuner, which means that you can watch regular tv in your phone.

  • William Alequin Oct 09, 2009

If it's digital then is OK, there is no analog signal in US. Now, be very careful when buying in Ebay, when buying always ask question. Good luck.

When the phone is to be use in the States, the seller will announce it. Good posting my friend.

How should I connect my denon avr 1906 to my 32" ES6300 Series 6 SMART 3D Full HD LED TV Model numberUE32ES6300U in order to get dolby digital from the tv's tuner please?

Use an optical cable.

Be aware though. Your TV has a DVB-T tuner. It picks up the Freeview standard definition (SD) channels, but not the Freeview HD ones. Dolby Digital sound only comes from the Freeview HD channels.

Your TV will pass Dolby Digital from any source connected to a HDMI port to the Optical Out. It will also pass DTS. But the internal Freeview DVB-T tuner doesn't generate Dolby Digital, just stereo and stereo with Dolby Surround encoding where you use ProLogic II for decoding.

Does the tv model sylvania tvk191 have a qam tuner?

If the TV is sold in the UK, then yes it has a QAM tuner.

All TVs have to be able to pick up Freeview to legally be sold as a TV in the UK. Freeview is the public name for the DVB-T service which is our Digital Video Broadcast - Terrestrial service. DVB-T is just the standard definition channels. DVB-T2 is the version of Freeview that includes HD as well as SD channels. The QAMs are the way in which the signal is encoded. But it's really a level of detail that you don't need to go to. It's sufficient to know that the tuner is ether DVB-T for SD only, or DVB-T2 to pick up SD and HD.

Can you please advise which external tv tuner will work for SONY trinitron kv-xf21m80 model? My SONY crt tv tuner is not catching most VHF B/G channels. i sought the services of an authorised service...

If you have a cable box and can set your TV to channel 3 then you should be able to watch cable. If you want to watch over the air broadcasts then you need a digital converter box which you can buy at Best Buy for around 40 dollars. You use the converter box as the tuner and set your TV on channel 3.

Does the pioneer dvr-720H-s connect to digitial tv?

The pioneer dvr-720H-S doesn't have a digital tuner. It has a PAL and a SECAM tuner (the European version). You'll need a digital to analog converter or a cable/satellite receiver to provide a signal for the unit to record the digital channels.

The specification list for the DVR-702H-S is available here: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/DVR-720H-S/index.html .

I wish that I had better news for you. Note: the most common D-T-A converters have SD output.

(I know in the UK the digital format is DVB-T2 for FreeView)

I cannot install terrestrial digital tv on my Philips LCD TV 32PFL5403D/10 and it states that it has a digital tuner installed.

DVB-T can be translated in Mpeg 2 or H.264 (Mpeg4) format. Check if you have correct tuner installed for you local provider

No problem, I just want to know if this tv has a digital tuner? It says it has a "digital comb filter". Is that the same thing?

A digital comb filter is not a tuner. It helps improve the appearance of digital content by splitting the luminance (brightness) and chrominance (color) of a digital video signal (DVD, or other set-top box). This filter is only needed when digital content is going to the TV over RF (coax) or composite (analog) inputs. http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/tv-buying-guide18.htm has some details on the filter,

Please provide the model number of the TV for additional information about the tuner. Normally the tuners will be listed as NTSC (analog), ATSC (digital), Clear QAM (unencrypted digital cable) in the US. In other countries you have PAL (analog) or DVB-T (standard definition digital terrestrial) or DVB-C (standard definition digital cable) signals.

I hope this helps.

TV Tuner express card 54 DVB-T Medion

Hi,
you need to install/re-install the drivers for the expresscard, should be downloadable from medion. Also check in control-panel that the device is there. If you look in My Computer/control Panel/System/Device Manager and the device is listed, with a yellow exclamation mark. try removing/uninstalling. or physically remove from the computer, re-install and go through the new hardware wizard to set it up.

What model of DVD player do you have? The RF cable jacks on dvd players are only for switching the RF. All players always use AV input/output or Component input/output, the later is the best.

Recording DVB on this DVD recorder?

Have sorted this problem now, I purchased a SCART DVB TV Unit from Freecom, this did not work at first connection, but I then realised that it had to work as RGB into the SCART plug on the DVD, once I set the unit to RGB, all was fine.
I can now record Freeview on my DVD fine.
I do however have one prblem which this will not overcome, that is the addition of yet another remote control !!!
