I have a rca hd56w66, my screen shuts off but the audio still stays on. For a few days, it started fading to orange and then to green and then out to black. After about a minute, the picture would come back green then orange and the normal. now it just goes black after its on for a bit (1-20 minutes), and then stays black till you turn it off for 5 minutes and turn back on. Please help me

Ok, do you have a volt meter, ohm meter & 20 mhz scope? You will need these items just begin to try and isolate where the problem is. In addition you will need to have a background in electronics. Its not as simple as you may think when it comes to these type of televisions. If it was a flat panel or even a simple table top tv you could check out the two or three boards inside the tv and maybe find the problem, but with this tv it don't work that way.

If your daughter needs a tv look on craigslist.com, select the area you live in. I have found several there for people I know that needed one but couldn't afford it.
