Receiving voicemail but mobile is not displaying

Method 1:
1 - Switch ON your Samsung S5230 Star with a NOT ACCEPTED SIM Card.
2 - Samsung S5230 Star will ask for "Password".
3 - Enter the Unlock Code.

OR (if the Samsung S5230 Star shows "Insert Correct SIM Card")

Method 2:
1 - Switch ON your Samsung S5230 Star with a NOT ACCEPTED SIM Card.
2 - Don't bother about what's being displayed on your Samsung S5230 Star.
3 - Compose : #0111*CODE#.

You can get the GSM network unlock code for Samsung Star GT-S5230 from Unlock-Zone.com . There you have to give your Country and current network name along with your IMEI number to get the unlock code.

I reviewed the manual as the link lists below but could not find any information on how to turn off edge through the phone's options.

Best bet would be to contact your carrier provider and inquiry if any options are available to turn it off from their end.

Please remove the battery and Sim out of your mobile. Then press n hold the power button for 10 seconds. Kindly replace the sim properly as well as the battery. Now check your messages by turning the mobile on.

First you have to Install PC studio then install usb drive (note dont connect ur mobile during this time)

press and hold number 1

The voice mail symbol is sent to your handset by the network when you get a voicemail, they then send the handset another message to remove the icon once you have listened to the voicemail... Sometimes an error occurs and the phone doesnt receive the removal message...

Try getting a friend or using another phone send yourself a voicemail, then using your phone, check your voicemails, listen to the one you have and delete it... The icon should go... However if its a hardware fault with the handset display then this will not fix it...

I've had the same problem as well. I made sure no messages were there, then called and left myself a message from another phone. I went in and listened to the message and waited till the option to delete came on and for the indication there were no more messages. Icon was gone.
