Hi,

Since you have removed Vista, now you need to download sound and other drivers from your manufacturer's website.
You can refer the link below to download the drivers you need :--

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/product_support/product_support_central?~ck=ln&c=us&l=en&lnki=0&s=gen&SystemID=VOS_N_1400

You can click the driver download button followed by choose XP as operating system.
Hope this helps !

If you have CD of drivers install them in to your laptop. I will work.

Vista not required any driver installation like a Sound, Ethernet, Graphics, Etc. Vista is already having drivers & its has not need to install driver from other source.

But XP cannot work with out drivers.

Re-Install drivers may fix this problem.

Thanks.

You are download grading your Operating System to XP from Vista. Drivers for Vista and XP are diferent.

You can download the Audio drivers for XP from Dell Support Site for your laptop.
Check your "Device Manager" and uninstall the previous drivers and reinstall the XP Audio drivers downloaded from Dell Site.

Hope it helps.

Sound card for dell inspiron 1750 on Windows XP

Download sisandra free which gives you every detail about whats on your pc including the soundcard name and lots more then go to driverguide.com register free and get your driver. If you downgraded from vista to xp then you need to uninstall the windows "HD uaa bus driver", a long story but easy to do.This removes the driver permenently locked to the soundcard which wont work in xp but if uninstalled allows a normal driver for your card to work so eg:ac97 sound card, download the xp version as you have downgraded and if you go back to vista the operating system will reinstall the HD driver.Simple if you know.

Issue with sound driver.

Rolling back from Vista to XP may require the driver from Microsoft called MICROSOFT UAA DRIVER. Most regular drivers won't load without this driver being loaded first. You can also check the internet for others in the same boat trying to roll back their systems from Vista to XP.

Here is a link where you should be able to get all your drivers:

How to install XP in toshiba Satellite L45-S7423 laptop

You cannot uninstall Windows Vista, but you can reinstall your previous operating system, which then replaces Windows Vista. To reinstall your old operating system, you must have the original installation disc. Back up your programs and files, insert the installation disc into your computer, and then reinstall the old operating system. To regain the hard disk space used by Windows Vista, reformat the disk during the reinstallation process. After reinstalling your previous operating system, reinstall your programs and files.
