LG 17" flat screen monitor one old, all red is gone from display

One day all is fine the next day there is no red color in the display - everything now has a green tint to it. It's obviously a weakness in the monitor that LG knew about because I have seen other postings re: this problem. We bought this monitor on sale and now am wondering if LG knew of this weakness and flogged them to electronics stores to get rid of them easily?? It's just over a year old, haven't checked my receipt/warranty yet but am betting it expired at 1 year as things usually do. Am not impressed and don't plan on buying LG again.

If you want to fix it, open the case then see for the RGB Board that cling on the neck of the tube, remove the plate protector using solder, then there's the problem.

Re soldering all of this circuit should fix the problem, especially on the color drive IC, jobs done !!!!

Did someone change the setting on the monitor itself ? check those settings and then check the setting on your graphics card, sometimes you can change those setting and it will effect the color that you are seeing

problem with the monitor Display cable. it is damaged.

Normally monitor will receive 3 colors red, green, Blue signals from CPU. If one cable i.e Red wire connection is missing in display cable which is connected to monitor, Red color image on monitor wil be replaced with other fade color.
So, need the replace the display cable or display connector!

Monitor display on Dell E176FP

You may loose connections at the end of the VGA cable, or video card not seated tightly. I would check that first.

Green light flickering & Sunset red screen display.

You've got components that have gone bad, probably from age and the normal heat inside a CRT monitor case.

I hate to say it, but it's really not worth fixing. You can usually find a used but working 17" monitor for under 20 bucks.

No display under 1024x768

I have the same problem with 800x600. I've found that by setting the refresh rate to 56 Hz, I can get the games to play. For instance Age-Of-Empires II only works with this method. My old monitor worked fine, and this works at 1280x1024.

HP Pavilian external monitor color problem.

The easiest thing would be to check your cable for a bent or loose pin. Next put another external monitor on the laptop. The circuitry to provide video to the laptop screen and the external monitor are separate except that they share a video processor and video memory. There can be bad electronics involved.
