To remove a virus,trojan,worm,etc from your computer...do it the EASY way...let someone else do it for you.
Start your computer, as the computer is starting keep tapping the F!,F2 or F8 Key, depending on your computer.
This will start the computer in the Safe Mode.
Once in the safe mode go to the following webage below and download,install, and run Microsoft Safety Scanner for FREE.

Try updating your antvirus software and then restart your system in safemode. Then scan your full scan your system in safe mode. That will help you in deleting any kind of virus affected in your system. Try ESET NOD 32 Antivirus its more effective than avira.

The best thing to do is to save the important files into the disk or FLASH DRIVE, then Reformat your computer to completely remove the virus, after installing the OS install the anti-virus then update it,

Download these 3 antivirus then install 1 by 1 in computer then update it's definition from internet .
Then scan your computer in boot time.Then it removes all virus.
Make sure after scanning with 1 antivirus uninstall that antivirus then install seconds antivirus.
Then all virus are removed.

Right Click on My Computer, Click on Properties, Click on Advanced, under System Start-Up and Recovery Option, Click on Settings then Under The default Operating System you should see, The Time taken to dislplay list of OS and recovery Options When needed, just change the two numbers from 30 to '0', then click on OK, and restart your system. This will stop you from seeing Multiple OS When you boot up your system...and will go directly to your default.

What this will do is reset your computer back to factory defaults like you had just got it out of the box. This would fix the problem for sure. Of course you could also go here as well and download the win32.brontok removal tool. http://www.bitdefender.com/[email protected] This program will remove any instance of the worm on your computer and get rid of it. This way you won't have to restore your computer back to factory defaults.

Hello Patti,

First, you need to update the Norton with the latest virus definitions and perform a scan again. It may detect the virus and remove it.

If it does not, we need to format the hard drive of the computer and reinstall the operating system as it is the most effective way to get rid of the virus.

its simple guys..!!!
if it asks for permission to access outlook..don't permit it because it is a smart virus and is going to spread it to all the people on your contact list...!!!
simply open task manager and end process tree of KHATRA.exe , gHost.exe , xplorer.exe and OUTLOOK.exe seperately...!!
then run your anti virus or download one if you don't have one..!!!
run a complete computer scan in detail..!!
then delete all files which are infected by the virus because the results contain only duplicate files which are created by the virus
