Blue haze from lower left slowly starting to consume the screen

The blue LCD panel in the light engine is going bad. The only fix is to replace the light engine. This is an extremely expensive repair. However, Sony has extended the warranty on the light engine only on many of these models. Find a local Sony authorized service center and give them your model and serial number to see if yours qualifies for the warranty.

Blue dots on screen plus ghosting on screen

The optical block is defective. Contact Sony support. Sometimes they will warranty these even after the 1yr warranty has expired. Have your model and serial numbers handy.

Sony Grand Wega KDFE 42 10 = blue streaking

I called a repair company who said it would cost about $1100. to replace the optical block. Sony offered no help or solution and the comment was "all electronics will have problems in 3 years". We will buy a replacement after researching what we want/need.
Thanks for your input.
