Battery Won't Charge on JVC GZ-MG275

Supplied battery (BN-VF808) won't charge-up on my new camcorder. Green light blinks for 7 seconds, then turns off. Charging via supplied dock also no good. Camera works fine when plugged into powerpoint, though. Suggestions?

The only suggestion is that it's a faulty battery. You said the camcorder is new, take the battery back, it's under waranty, and get a new one.

Well, it is the problem of your camcorder battery ,since the external power supply can make your camcorder work well, you should check the interface between the battery and camcorder.another method, put a same model JVC camcorder battery in your camcorder, check the light,if it dosn't work, get a new one from the agent or camcorder batteries online store

I have purchased a jvc camcorder in grand canaria, spain. It is jvc gz-mg330AE.i am led to believe by the sales person that it is a new recent model on the range. Is this so?.Also a more powerful battery...

Hi,
GZ-MG330 is new series of camcorder with 30GB HDD
Regarding battery, BN-VF808U, if its slim and supplied with camcorder then its OK and other longer life battery must be double then slim battery and of course, model number would be changed.
Click HERE to see 3 different JVC original batteries that will explain it better.
Hope this info will help you to buy extra longer life battery.
Thanks.

Battery changing problem

sounds like there's a dead cell in there. You'll need to replace the battery.

JVC Camcorder - used wrong power lead to charge battery

They sell external battery chargers for these for around 10 bucks at Amazon. Just pop the battery in the charger. Beware the battery itself can be worn down or dead. It also has protection circuits right inside the battery that can be blown (maybe a small fuse too). A new high capacity battery (3 times the recording time) is also at Amazon for around $25.

JVC EVERIO HYBRID GZ-MG330 Battery error?

I bought a replacement data battery BN-VF-808U from Digicowfish through Amazon.com. (?made by PomerPower).
It fits nciely to my JVC Everio GZ-MG330 which uses a BN-VF808U data battery. However, JVC gives a screen message:Communicating Error.
Now I have solved my Communication Error by using a jumper cable provided with the replacement battery BN-VF808U to connect the attached replacement battery to the camcorder. There is a DC input socket on the camcorder. There is also a DC input socket on the replacement battery for direct connection.

Battery Recharging

With the unit that new, bring it back and request an exchange. There is a problem with either the charger circuitry or the battery itself. Any other action on your part could void the warranty.

My GZ-MG20 wont turn on.

You need a new battery, it has lost its ability to charge.

Power problem

Your battery is probabily uncharged or disconnected. Try taking the battery out and putting it back in. Then charge it (by plugging in the AC adapter) until the green activity light stops flashing. If this does not work, your battery is probabily dead. Did you short it out? Or perhaps it is old. Li-Ion batteries (the kind used in these machines) lose their ability to hold their charge in a few years - even if they're not in use! So, if your battery is 3 or more years old, try considering a new battery.
