4gb nano ipod hangs

I started ma ipod nw its freeze like its kinda hang up backlight is on n i cant manage to do anything with all buttons pressing in vain..tell me solution to restart or restore it to function properly

i hv a 2 gb ipod version 1.1.2 which i bought last yr arnd june...

it hung on a flight nd aftr tht it's strted happening now...vryy often..i do let d battery run out nd thn recharge it bt ne idea's as to y this hppns???

Press menu and select button together :)

It'll hard boot your IPOD and solve the issue :)

Try letting the power run right down then recharge. It works for my 2 gig

flick the hold button back and forth a few times, then, making sure that it is unlocked press and hold the menu and middle button together. hold them down until it goes dark and the apple mark comes up. hope this helps?

iDevices (iPod, iPhone, etc) usually can only be managed through iTunes. So the first thing you should do is install iTunes (you can download it off Apple's website).

After installing iTunes and connecting your iPod, you must open My Computer then double click your iPod's icon. Then, click on Tools, Options, and in the View tab check the "Show hidden files and folders" option. You should then see an "iPod_Control" folder. Inside it there'll be a "Music" folder, with all your songs. Just drag them back to your computer.

But remember: you can only manage your iPod's music through iTunes. If you add or change songs on your iPod without using iTunes, these songs won't be recognized.

Reset iPod nano (if it isn’t responding) Slide the Hold switch to HOLD and back again. Press the Menu and Center buttons at the same time for about 6 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

The ipod is just been hanged and it is not responding to any keys

when the ipod was hanged i was waitintg for half an hour then i just pressed the play/pause button it started to deactivate from the lock then again i pressed the play/pause button it switched off then i charged and i started using ............. anyway i am very happy that you tried to help me through ur premium assistance plan..............can i ask a favor ...........that is can i become a fix ya.com member or an expert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Try resetting it by toggling the hold switch and putting it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button for about 6 seconds until the ipod goes off and the Apple logo appears. After that, it should work like new. Hope this helps.

Generic answer for most devices of this type:
Check in the instruction book if there is a way to do a full re-set. If this is not the solution, remove the battery for a few minutes and then re-install it.

I know that there are some issues with this type of product. You may have to send the iPod back for service. If the unit is out of warranty, it may not be worth to service it.
