"No Memory Stick" error (but I never had one!)

I've never had a memory stick with my DSC-P92; I've always used the internal memory. Now, though, the internal memory doesn't seem to be working at all. I can't choose "format" and although I can review my most recent picture, when I set the mode switch from camera up to "view," no pictures I've taken are there. The "No memory stick" error seems to be stopping me from using the internal memory to save pictures at all. I suppose this is because my camera fell off my lap and onto the floor immediately prior to these symptoms, but I had to try here before I just write off my $300 camera as a total loss. :( I thought maybe some setting could be changed or something. (I already tried RESET button to no avail). Had the camera a few years; no warrant remains. Thanks for your time.

Because if it doesn't work, as well, then I'm out even more.

W don't you just get a memory stick for it? Then you don't have to "write off your $300 camera as a total loss"

A memory card is only about $30 and if it doesn't work, you can just return it. If you're really worried about the memory card not working, buy something like 32MB, they're like $10

13:01 error

Hi,

The C:13:01 error code indicates the issue with the Media used in the Camera.

This may be due to the:
Format Error of the Internal Memory.
Un-formatted Memory Stick Duo.
Broken Memory Stick Duo.
Memory Stick Duo type error.
When the Camera cannot Read or Write the data in the Memory Stick Duo.

This can be resolved by Formatting the Internal Memory and Memory Stick Duo.
If not resolved, try inserting a new Memory Stick Duo which is supported.
Try power resetting, remove and reinsert the Memory Stick etc.

This will resolve the issue, if not the Camera may require service.

Memory stick error

Hello, there is a contact error. In most cases it can be the connector itself. Please try to clean it with non greasy contact spray. Best regards, Arpi PS: if you need more info please advice.
